Motherwell have created a handful of half decent chances. Liam Polworth’s had three of them, two saved by Vaclav Hladky, another he shot well wide after an excellent counterattack. James Scott and Devante Cole have also had opportunities as the home side dominate early possession. Despite that, St Mirren have forced three corners but failed to trouble the home side.

Glenn Whelan connects with the cut-back from a short corner just a few yards out from the Kilmarnock six-yard box but his shot goes flying over the bar. A good set-piece chance ruined for Hearts.

It's Stevie Mallan's turn to have a go from long range with a free-kick.

The midfielder does better than Tom James earlier in the sense that his effort is on target, but it is straight into the arms of goalkeeper Joe Lewis.

Without the focal point of Uche Ikpeazu, Hearts have taken their time to ease into this game. After a bright start from Kilmarnock, Hearts took control for a spell, without creating any major chances. A looping header from Sean Clare was easily gathered by Laurentiu Branescu in the away goal, before Ryotaro Meshino showed flashes of skill on the edge of the box, but not enough to unlock the Kilmarnock defence.

Not a thriller so far, lots of ominous talk of 0-0 before the game from various attendees...

Stephen O'Donnell is known for his blistering runs up the right flank and he has the away fans off their seats with a wonderful touch to bring down a long pass and cut inside an unsuspecting Jake Mulraney in one movement.

The Kilmarnock defender then swings at the ball inside the Hearts box with his left foot but it results in a rather tepid shot at goal.

Aberdeen have rarely threatened so far but have a half chance from a corner.
