Russia 2-0 Scotland
Artem Dzyuba is at it again, this time thundering in from the left. Charlie Mulgrew does just enough to make sure the striker's shot trundles narrowly wide.
Russia 2-0 Scotland
So close to three for Russia as Artem Dzyuba tries to find the opposite top corner with an ambitious curling shot and it crashes against the crossbar. Scotland all at sea now.

Quote MessageThey have scored two goals of the highest quality. It just flies off Ozdoev's foot, flies into the roof of the net, and it's game over I'm afraid.

BBC Sport Scotland in the Luzhniki Stadium
Twice in quick succession the Luzhniki comes alive with a racket of incredible proportions. Just as the Tartan Army had begun to find their own voice as their team were growing in confidence. The home fans know they are heading to Euro 2020.
Magomed Ozdoev
An absolute rocket!
It's another top quality goal as Magomed Ozdoev thunders a shot beyond David Marshall from 22 yards. Unstoppable.

Quote MessageWhat a finish that is for the big guy right away... but again, we've lost a poor goal from a set-piece position, Charlie Mulgrew culpable
Artem Dzyuba
Just when things were starting to brighten up for Scotland...
Aleksandr Golovin swings in a corner and Artem Dzyuba is too strong for Charlie Mulgrew, brushing off the Scotland defender to steer in a smart volley. No chance for David Marshall as the ball loops into the top corner.
Russia 0-0 Scotland
The Tartan Army can be heard cheering their approval as Scotland press the home side back but the visitors can't fashion an opportunity to test goalkeeper Guilherme.
Russia 0-0 Scotland
Under no pressure at all, Charlie Mulgrew passes straight to a man in red and suddenly Aleksandr Golovin is charging at a backpedalling Scotland defence. However, the Monaco playmaker can only scoop a terrible shot over the top from 20 yards.
Russia 0-0 Scotland
Ian McCall managed Lawrence Shankland at Ayr United over the past two seasons, during which time he scored 61 goals in 73 games. The now Partick Thistle manager raved about the 24-year-old to BBC Scotland last week...
"I think when Steve Clarke sees him in training, he'll be surprised by just how good he is," McCall said. "He scores goals from two yards and 45 yards and he's as good at chipping a keeper as I've ever seen.
"He hasn't touched how good he can be. He'll go to the top - no doubt."

Quote MessageWe want him to get an opportunity. If Shankland gets a chance, who says he won't score?
Russia 0-0 Scotland
The teams are back out and there's another first cap for Scotland as Lawrence Shankland takes over from Oli Burke, who has a back injury apparently.
Shankland has been banging them in for Dundee United in the Championship, with 14 goals in eight appearances in the second tier.
Can he cut it at this level?

Quote MessageI think the tactics have worked a treat and it's the kind of performance I would expect from a Steve Clarke side. They look organised and disciplined and the high press is working. However, I would say that Russia look a little bit off.
HT: Russia 0-0 Scotland
No shots from Scotland yet. But no goals conceded.
Spare a thought for poor San Marino. The groups minnows - and Scotland's opponents on Sunday - are in action in Belgium, and boy, are they being given a torturous savaging by the world's top-ranked team.
Roberto Martinez hasn't given many of his galacticos the night off - Romelu Lukaku, Jan Vertonghen and Eden Hazard are among those starting.
It's half-time in Brussels, where Belgium have scored six goals in 18 minutes to lead 6-0 at the interval.
Ouch.

That’s a pretty satisfying first half for Steve Clarke and Scotland, nullifying the Russian threat thus far and occasionally posing one of their own, albeit nothing to overly concern Guilherme in the home goal. It’s not been a spectacularly good performance by Scotland but any incremental improvement is to be welcomed right now.
So far, so okay.
It's not been much of a game, with Russia bossing the ball but not really hurting Scotland.
Steve Clarke will be happy with the endeavour shown but will be asking for more composure when in possession.
Russia 0-0 Scotland
