    Quote Message

The last five minutes, Russia have stepped it up. It won't surprise me if Fernandes is involved in a goal or assist if it comes because Robertson is being left two-on-one when he comes forward.

Another cross is aimed at the giant figure of Artem Dzyuba and the Russia captain glances a header wide. No worries for David Marshall.

More menace from Russia as they look to make the breakthrough before half time. Scotland hanging on a bit now.

  4. First save for Marshallpublished at 38 mins

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

Russia knock the ball into captain Artem Dzyuba but the big striker is immediately swarmed by four defenders in blue and Andy Robertson hoofs clear.

The hosts come again and David Marshall has to look lively to push away a shot from Aleksandr Golovin.

    Ouch!published at 36 mins

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

Scotland enjoy their longest passing sequence of the game but it all ends rather painfully as it looks like John McGinn has caught his studs in the turf.

The Aston Villa man is limping off for some treatment but it doesn't look too bad.

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

    Billy Dodds

    Quote Message

I don't think Russia are playing at their top gear. A lot of the time they are playing quite slow and that's got to suit us.

Aleksandr Golovin gets the free kick up and over the defensive wall but it brushes the roof of the net, with David Marshall looking pretty relaxed.

Lovely flick from Oli Burke and Robert Snodgrass is motoring forward with Ryan Fraser screaming for a pass in behind the Russia defence but Dzhikiya gets a toe in the way to concede a corner. Artem Dzyuba is back to nod the delivery from Snodgrass away.

  12. Home crowd happy despite stalematepublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 10 October 2019

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

    Alasdair Lamont
BBC Sport Scotland in the Luzhniki Stadium

The home fans seem to like what they’re seeing from their team despite a failure to break down the Scots so far. The Russians have really begun to buy into the national team again since a resurgence that began at the World Cup. It’s a turnaround in fortunes the Scots would love to emulate.

  13. 'We've got to keep the ball'published at 20:12 British Summer Time 10 October 2019

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

We've got to keep the ball. We're going forward too quickly and going too direct. We're giving the ball away cheaply. We spoke about this last time at Hampden as well.

  14. Possession a problem for Scotspublished at 24 mins

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

Scotland are really struggling to hold on to the ball. When it does come their way, it doesn't stick for more than two or three passes.

Scotland are opened up this time but Aleksei Ionov's weak, low shot is easily blocked by Andrew Robertson, just in front of keeper David Marshall.

  16. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

Scotland are sitting deeper and deeper as Russia pop it about. Still, David Marshall has not had a save to make.

  17. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

Mario Fernandes is involved again as the ball breaks to Russia skipper Artem Dzyuba in the penalty box. Scotland crowd him out but the big man does a great job of hunting down Robert Snodgrass to win the ball back and that brings the biggest cheer of the night so far.

  18. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

David Marshall comes out to gather a harmless looping header from Mario Fernandes, the Brazil-born full-back, who is bombing forward at every occasion.

  19. Scotland must be wary of Fernandes threatpublished at 20:00 British Summer Time 10 October 2019

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

    Billy Dodds
    Former Scotland striker on Sportsound

    Quote Message

I really worry about this right hand side with Fernandes getting forward. Snodgrass should be tracking him and getting behind the ball. If we're not going to defend better on this side then it's going to hurt us.

  20. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Russia 0-0 Scotland

Russia are getting a lot of room to work in down Scotland's left flank but this attack comes from the right as the ball breaks to Fyodor Kudryashov at the back post and he lashes a wild shot high and wide.
