    Swansea offer the first serious threat in the second half as a rare spell of possession ends with Bidwell crossing for Ayew, but the ball hits the striker's arm before his effort is blocked.

    Byers then lashes over, but play is stopped by then anyway.

There were incidents in that first half which saw Neil Etheridge make some mistakes, but whether that means Smithies is ready to enter the fray we'll have to wait and see. If it is, it's a big call from Neil Warnock.

    Cardiff City are at sixes and sevens at the back and set pieces are supposed to be their strength... they're a bit of a shambles and Swansea City are thoroughly deserving of an interval lead.

    The last derby was five years ago in the Premier League when Garry Monk's first game in charge was a 3-0 victory for Swansea. Wayne Routledge, Nathan Dyer and Wilfried Bony with the goals. Routledge and Dyer making reappearances today.

    That kind of nervousness reverberates through the team. As a centre-back I wouldn't be playing the ball back too often to Neil Etheridge because using his feet and kicking are probably the weakest part of his game.
