David Ljunggren: More evidence if any were needed that Steve Bruce has no idea what he is doing. Wolves have ripped us open down their right flank all half and he just sat there.

    Newcastle 1-1 Wolves

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

The scoreline is about right. Newcastle were good tactically in the first half but they were too negative in the second half and Wolves deserved to get their goal back.

Their tactical change on the right-hand side was exactly what they needed. It was not a good performance from Wolves but then neither was it for Newcastle.

A draw sums up the game.

    So close!

Wolves open up the home defence as Adama Traore finds Raul Jimenez who does ever so well to keep the ball in play before crossing for Matt Doherty.

His header flashes a couple of inches wide. That was the chance to win this.

The visitors can smell three points - and they are going for it.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 83 mins

Joelinton is sacrificed following Sean Longstaff's red card as Jonjo Shelvey is sent on.

Wolves, too, make a late change - goalscorer Jonny replaced by Ruben Vinagre.

Sean Longstaff was high in that challenge. He lost control of it, studs were up. I am not 100% sure he meant to go through with it but he knew half way through that, he had made a mistake. He did not argue at all, in fact he turns and apologises straight away. It's a red card but he did not try to hurt the player, there was no menace in it.

  15. RED CARD - Sean Longstaffpublished at 82 mins

    Newcastle 1-1 Wolves

Newcastle are down to 10 men!

It's a shocker by Sean Longstaff who is out of control as he flies into Ruben Neves.

And he knows it. No protest from any of Newcastle's players as Longstaff makes his way off.

  20. 'Wolves change paid off'published at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 27 October 2019

    Newcastle 1-1 Wolves

    Pat Nevin
Former Chelsea and Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Poor goalkeeping from Newcastle but the changes in formation that Nuno Espirito Santo made at half-time has paid off.

It's the two players on the right hand side who just destroy Newcastle's left-hand side in the lead up to the goal.

Newcastle cannot get into the half, they have to do something different. If they keep playing like this they will lose.
