    Offside by a fingertip.

    Chris Wilder cannot believe it.

    David McGoldrick

    That didn't last long!

  4. 'You can't write Spurs off'published at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 1-0 Sheffield United

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Very harsh on Sheffield United. The ball falls for Son, really really lucky, but when he gets it he does what he has to do.

You can’t write Spurs off, they have got the quality to hurt you.

  5. goal

GOAL - Tottenham 1-0 Sheffield Unitedpublished at 58 mins

    Son Heung-min

They don't deserve to be, but Spurs are ahead!

Spurs work the ball well on the edge of the box and Enda Stevens makes a hash of a routine clearance, allowing Son to slip the ball through the goalkeeper's legs for his third goal in two games.

  6. Postpublished at 55 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    Better from Sanchez.

Lys Mousset tries to get the better of the former Ajax man again but the defender holds his ground on this occasion, outmuscling the Blades striker and clearing the danger.

  7. 'Mousset shot went millimeters wide'published at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Unbelievable chance! Mousset did everything right.

He can’t understand how he missed the goal, he has turned Davinson Sanchez inside out and his shot went just millimetres wide from the back post.

If Sheffield United were 2-0 up you would have no complaints whatsoever.

  8. CLOSE!published at 53 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

Spurs have a chance to counter but Giovani Lo Celso is brought down by John Fleck.

The hosts work the ball well, though, and Son Heung-min eventually tests Dean Henderson with a low drive that the Blades goalkeeper does well to palm to safety.

That was Spurs' first shot on target.

  9. 'Ndombele's injury could be a blessing in disguise'published at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The Harry Winks substitution could be a blessing in disguise: he’ll sit in front of the defence more than Tanguy Ndombele who came off injured.

Nbombele pushed forward a lot in the first half and did not give Alli and Lo Celso any room to move into.

  10. CLOSE!published at 51 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

Half the ground thought that was in!

David McGoldrick releases Lys Mousset, who holds the ball up, turns Davinson Sanchez and unleashes a fierce shot towards the far post which flies agonisingly wide.

  11. Postpublished at 48 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    *Copy, paste*

Spurs lose possession again but eventually win the ball back after Lys Mousset is dispossessed on the edge of the area.

At the other end, Son Heung-min's curling effort flies well wide of the far post. You could see what he was trying to do, but it was never going in.

  12. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

The visitors have picked up where they left off at the end of the first half.

Lys Mousset cuts inside on to his right foot but his shot is blocked by Davinson Sanchez.

David McGoldrick is then called back for offside.

  13. KICK-OFFpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    Back under way!

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:03 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

Spurs have made a substitution at the interval.

Tanguy Ndombele, who suffered a groin injury in the first half, makes way for Harry Winks.

  15. 'It could be an entertaining second half'published at 15:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

I am wondering if Sheffield United can continue with the same intensity. And if Spurs can improve we are in for a really entertaining second half.

Sheffield United really worked hard from the first whistle, they put pressure on Spurs and forced errors.

Spurs have not been comfortable with the type of pressure they have been put under in the first half.

  16. 'Sheffield United should be ahead'published at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    Mark Schwarzer
Former Fulham keeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Spurs have been very average and a lot of it is down to Sheffield United being so good. The only negative for Chris Wilder at half-time is that they are not ahead.

The only problem for Sheffield United is: will Tottenham play like this in the second half?

  17. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November 2019

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

    Goalless at the break.

Sheffield United have gone closest to breaking the deadlock. Plenty of work to do for Spurs, who haven't really got going at all.

  18. Postpublished at 45 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

Just one added minute to be played at the end of the half.

Spurs are finishing the half on top.

  19. Postpublished at 43 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

The Spurs supporters urge Serge Aurier forward as he collects a ball wide on the right.

The full-back eventually gets in a good crossing position but his delivery is deflected into the arms of Dean Henderson.

  20. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Tottenham 0-0 Sheffield United

Excellent defending from Enda Stevens, who intercepts Son Heung-min's through-ball before winning a goal-kick off Serge Aurier.

Spurs are yet to register a single shot on target this afternoon.
