Justyn: Well at least there was 18 minutes of hope there for Saints fans. It could go either way now, but I have a feeling it will be Arsenal's.

Hasan Anfield: It has been written all over the stars. Unai Emery gonna be the next manager to lose his job after Poch.

Just the start Southampton wanted. And not the one that Arsenal boss Unai Emery would have wished for.

A great finish from Danny Ings, whose shot rattles in off the left post but Arsenal were caught completely cold by Ryan Bertrand's quick free-kick.

    Dreadful defending.

    Arsenal v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

Earlier today Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl told Football Focus his side must become "nasty" again to recover from their poor Premier League start and climb out of the bottom three.

The Saints, who have eight points from 12 matches, have gone seven games without a win and also have the worst defensive record in the top flight.

"We know we only have a chance if we stay brave," Hasenhuttl told Football Focus.

"It's about finding the way back to the track that we have been successful on.

"We must go back to being a nasty team when we don't have the ball.

"My team believes one result can be the change but to get this one result it needs a lot of investment and input in our mindset on the pitch."

Could this be the day they get that result?

    Arsenal v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

Bit strange to see Granit Xhaka missing from the Arsenal squad again for this one.

Gunners head coach Unai Emery had hinted he could bring the Switzerland midfielder in from the cold after he sat out the last four games following his outburst at supporters during a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace almost a month ago.

Surely this would have been an ideal one to bring him back for?

  17. Lawro's predictionpublished at 14:56 Greenwich Mean Time 23 November 2019

    Arsenal v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
    BBC football expert

If you had told me at the start of this week that one of the big clubs would be sacking their manager, I probably would have said it would be Arsenal and Unai Emery.

I think Arsenal will win this game easily enough because of their firepower and the fact Southampton are in a mess - they have taken only one point from their past seven league games.

But I don't think that victory on Saturday will mean Arsenal's problems are over. They are still far too much of a soft touch at the back.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-0

    Match of the Day commentator

Tottenham's decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino surely sharpens the focus on Unai Emery's struggles up the road.

Okay, he's only been in situ for 18 months but Arsenal's form is so poor that the gap to the top four is already eight points. The rumblings of discontent are getting louder.

On paper, this game is opportune. Southampton have the worst defensive record in the Premier League and have collected just one point from the last 21 available.

Ralph Hasenhuttl is another facing the heat but his rescue act of last season should buy him some time.

I'm not sure Emery has that luxury. A must win? Probably.

    Arsenal v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Hello again.

Prior to Saturday’s games Arsenal boss Unai Emery and his Southampton counterpart Ralph Hassenhuttl shared the unenviable tag of being the bookmakers favourite to be the next Premier League manager dismissed.

That title has now been passed on to West Ham's Manuel Pellegrini, well temporarily anyway.

I'd imagine it could revert back to whoever loses this game. If of course it's not a draw, which would probably leave both under pressure.
