  1. 'Auba's a great captain'published at 13:49 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2019

    Norwich v Arsenal (14:00 GMT)

    Arsenal

Arsenal interim boss Freddie Ljungberg: "It's a proud day for me and my family. To have an opportunity to lead them out i'm very excited.

"I felt this was the best balance of our team to play this way.I think every manager has to tailor [how to play] to the players he has. Of course you have to tinker with the system to make it work. I felt this was a good line-up

"The captaincy has had so many discussions and I thought I should leave it as it is, Auba's (Aubameyang) a great captain and a great player. (Granit Xhaka is the former captain)

"Everybody knows in football that the three points are most important but at the same time I want the players to enjoy themselves as well. Maybe that is just me being old school."

Wolves v Sheffield United (14:00 GMT)

    Wolves

Both managers have been complimentary towards each other in the pre-match interviews, with their teams having played one another in the Championship two seasons ago. Both games were won by the home team and there was a sending off in each match.

Nuno Espirito Santo said: "We are doing ok, we are improving our performances through the season even though it's a tight schedule and we are given it everything we have. We know Sheffield United, having played them in the Championship, and they have a fantastic manager in Chris and very good players."

There are very few players, if any, in the Sheffield United team that have spent all their lives in the Premier League. There are no egos in that dressing room.

"They are all Chris Wilder's players and he knows what they will do on the pitch and in the dressing room. At Premier League level you cannot have one or two bad apples. It just doesn't work.

  7. 'Arsenal don't have leaders'published at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2019

    Clinton Morrison
Former Crystal Palace striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Unai Emery was in charge for a year and a half, he had nine different captains. That goes to show me he did not think there were any leaders in there.

But it can’t be all down to the manager, sometimes a group of players have to look at themselves.

But I don’t see that at Arsenal: they don’t have leaders or characters like Viera or Tony Adams and that’s why they are struggling at the moment but good luck to Ljungberg.

I am glad to see Mesut Ozil playing in that No 10 position.

He came on Thursday and played in the wrong position.

The performance on Thursday was one of the worst I’ve seen and Freddie Ljungberg had to make some changes: it is now up to the players to show some reaction and that they want to fight for the Arsenal badge

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo makes one change to the side which drew 3-3 with Braga on Thursday and it's a big one. With Romain Saiss suspended, in comes 22-year-old defender Max Kilman for his full Premier League debut.

Wolves XI: Rui Patricio, Kilman, Coady, Dendoncker, Doherty, Jota, Neves, Joao Moutinho, Jonny, Traore, Jimenez.

Substitutes: Vallejo, Pedro Neto, Cutrone, Ruddy, Ruben Vinagre, Otasowie, Cundle.

  13. Will Freddie fire up the Gunners?published at 13:19 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2019

    Norwich v Arsenal (14:00 GMT)

    Simon Brotherton
    BBC commentator

After Thursday's disastrous showing against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League, it was hard to see how much longer Arsenal could persevere with Unai Emery. We didn't have to wait long to find out.

It's seven matches without a win now, something that never happened in more than 1,200 matches under Arsene Wenger. More than that, it was about the level of performance and lack of progress or clear plan and identity during Emery's tenure.

Freddie Ljungberg is the man in temporary charge as they head to Carrow Road. Norwich, who secured an excellent win at Everton last week but have lost the last three at home (conceding 10 goals in the process), may find themselves up against reinvigorated opponents.

Undaunted by the big boys, their respective styles are entertaining AND effective.

Impressive on their return to the Premier League last season, Wolves have kicked on and embraced the challenge of European football too.

Sheffield United may be bereft of star names but they play with a togetherness that every supporter yearns to see from their team. It's almost as if their manager is a fan..., external
