GOAL - Everton 2-0 Chelseapublished at 50 mins

    Dominic Calvert-Lewin

They scored three minutes into the first half. They've scored four minutes into the second.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin shows superb determination to keep hold of the ball in the box after it had been pinging left and right. It breaks for him and he has just Kepa to beat, which he does with a low shot.

Khun Kai: Only half time. I don't want them to win, but I am sure Chelsea will. One goal and Everton fold, and back to old sins.

Not sure why Chelsea fans are suddenly turning on Kepa - young good shot stopper who's great with his feet. A centre back is what we need!

Calvert-Lewin in the wars early in the half, felled by Kurt Zouma to give Everton a free-kick in the Chelsea half.

Sigurdsson floats the ball in and it is Calvert-Lewin himself rising to head well over.

Another half like that first one is the order of the day for Everton. Chelsea will want far more fight and craft.

Chris Arkwright: Willian taking far too many touches today, a number of times already trying to over play it.

Chris: Once again Chelsea show their inexperience, by not being able to break down team already under pressure. They allow too many goals in and getting a proper. Goalkeeper should be their transfer priority.

Another football example of 'Bear theory' as Everton show a new lease of life post Silva. It dictates that to survive you only have to run faster than the slowest man on the team. Last week it was the manager. Now that the manager has been eaten by the bear the game starts anew. They need to work out who is the next slowest on the team. It could be them. So they lift their performance.

So far so good for Big Dunc. A goal he would have been proud of and plenty of fight.

Chelsea have had moments but not enough and haven't been clinical enough when they have.

Take Willian off please, twice now he doesn't pull the trigger! You don't shoot, you don't score!

Chelsea are really pushing at the minute. Mason Mount has had a couple of attacks blocked and they are attacking in numbers. Last five minutes they have been piling on the pressure and Everton are really being forced to defend their lead as they count down to half time.

AheadoftheSport: Richarlison has the qualities to be as good as Rashford, if only he got better service and had better players around him like Martial and Pogba

JaloftheReds: Adrenalin can only take you so far. Thirty minutes in and Everton have no more energy.

The Everton commitment is to be admired. Mount gets a sniff of goal but in comes the sliding Mason Holgate to block. He was one of four men in Blue willing to put their body on the line.
