First change for Manchester United as Andreas Pereira replaces Anthony Martial.

Pereira is straight into the action with a bad tackle on Raheem Sterling, who is fuming with the Manchester United substitute before Pereira is shown a yellow card.

Feels like City need to find a goal soon if they are to rescue something from this.

Riyad Mahrez whips in a cross and the ball deflects off Luke Shaw's elbow and behind for a corner. There's another check for a penalty but Shaw has his arms close to his body and it is just a corner. In comes the delivery and Nicolas Otamendi heads just wide.

Raheem Sterling goes down under a challenge inside the box. There's a few appeals for a penalty but they are halfhearted at best and replays show there was no contact. Play on.

A touch over 20 minutes for Manchester City to find a couple of goals and rescue this.

Fred appears to get hit by something as he goes to take the corner.

Manchester City are the ones doing all the pressing but Manchester United have looked a real threat on the counterattack and Ederson has to push behind Jesse Lingard's near post effort.

Rodri's shot deflects over for a 10th Manchester City corner, but again it comes to nothing.

Riyad Mahrez is on now for Bernardo Silva to try and unlock a well-disciplined Manchester United defence.

Dan James again causes bother down the right. He is able to get towards the edge of the box unchallenged before squaring into the dangerzone, Rodri gets a touch before Ederson is quick off his line to smother the loose ball.

Amir: Man Utd at the moment only eight points behind Man City. Closer than Man City are to Liverpool. So not as bad a season for Man United as people are making out...at the moment.

Dave: Obviously he's been phenomenal over the years, but David Silva is starting to look like he's winding down.

Victor Lindelof loses the ball and Raheem Sterling is in here! He runs across the box, thinks about a shot but carries on and in the end goes too far as he is forced wide before the ball is knocked out for a corner.

John Stones cannot continue so on comes Nicolas Otamendi for the final 30 minutes.

Against Liverpool and Tottenham, Manchester United got themselves into a winning position, then started to sit back.

It cost them against Liverpool, who grabbed a draw at Old Trafford.

Alex C: Assuming the result stays the same who would have thought City would be nearer dropping out the top four than they are getting to first? Nice of the teams around Liverpool to reduce their stress coming up to a long December.

Another quick break by Manchester United and this time Kyle Walker brings down Jesse Lingard. It was a tackle he had to make, otherwise the visitors were in for a third. No yellow card for Walker, which is a bit of a surprise.

BIG tackle by Victor Lindelof as he slides in to block Kevin de Bruyne's shot that was surely on its way into the back of the net.

David de Gea is booked for timewasting as Manchester United try to disrupt the Manchester City play as best they can. It is a long time to try and protect this lead, though.

But Manchester United can turn on the counter attack pretty quickly and they threaten a four on two break but the ball is played to Marcus Rashford, who has Kyle Walker on him quickly and the danger is dealt with.

Manchester City with all the possession but still lacking that bit of spark in the final third.

The visitors are coping pretty comfortably at the moment, but are quite deep in their own half.

Clever pull back by Angelino finds David Silva on the edge of the area. The midfielder breaks forward and flashes a shot over the far post.
