  3. 'Title talk banned by Klopp'published at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Liverpool v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Winning the Premier League won't be the topic of discussion in Liverpool's dressing room. Everyone else thinks it's in the bag, but the manager Jurgen Klopp will not allow them to talk like that. His focus will be on Wolves and nothing more.

  4. Postpublished at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Liverpool v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

OK, Arsenal reaction coming up at half-time of this 16:30 GMT kick-off.

Our focus is now on Anfield.

  5. 'We're still in fourth and want more'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard speaking to BBC Sport: "We were so awful for 30 mins, slow lethargic, nervous. The opposite of against Tottenham. We gave Arsenal everything they wanted. We made the change early, felt it had to be done. Second half we dominated.

"After 10 mins or so it was clear that Arsenal had seen us play against Tottenham and made us into a back five instead of a back three. They were on top and there was a lack of balance to our team. The sub gave us another man in midfield and gave us more urgency.

Were there words at half-time? "Possibly. From my point of view you can accept a miss-pass but you can't accept lethargy in a London derby. The players were told that and they delivered. The second half was nothing to do with tactics it was all to do with spirit and desire.

"I still haven't bounced back from Boxing Day mentally (loss to Southampton). Our next home games we'll do everything we can to turn the corner. We're still in fourth and want more and the home games have been different so we have to focus on them when they come around."

  6. 'We needed that'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho on Sky Sports: "First 10 minutes of the second half we were too soft and we had to push more. We needed that and I tried to push my mates. We changed the game."

On the whether he should have had a second yellow card: "It was not my fault. Contact is normal in football. It is no more I think."

  7. 'Jorginho changed the game'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea

    Chelsea

Chelsea matchwinner Tammy Abraham, speaking to Sky Sports: "I give credit to the boys, I give credit to Jorginho. The first 30 minutes they dominated the ball, they were popping us in midfield, then this man (Jorginho) comes on and it was a whole different ball game.

"Him coming on lifted the whole team and the second half was a better performance."

On scoring his first Chelsea goal against a 'big six' club: "It felt good. I knew it would be a matter of time before it came and thankfully it came today."

  9. Another shock on the cards?published at 16:20 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Liverpool v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Among the crowd of Liverpool fans spilling into Anfield are the odd Wolves fans, springing out in huddles of orange.

John (left) and Rob are season ticket holders ('how long for?' I ask. 'Ooh ages. Can't remember!' They reply).

I wished them good luck and smiled as I said 'another shock on the cards?' following their 3-2 win over Manchester City on Friday.

"Oh, I hope so. Why not?" John replied.

  10. 'Wolves have been outstanding'published at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Liverpool v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

    Mark Lawrenson
Ex-Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 live

I was here a couple of years ago when Wolves were in the Championship and knocked Liverpool out of the FA Cup so they have a chance today. Wolves are one of the best run clubs in the Premier League now and Liverpool will have to be at it. Jurgen Klopp will have pointed that out. I half expected Wolves to finish mid-table, but they have been outstanding this season. Can they finish in the top four? Why not. They have been planning a year to 18 months planning in advance.

  11. Postpublished at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Liverpool v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

    Alex Scott
    Ex-England international on Football Focus

Matt Doherty is so reliable, you know week in week out what you're going to get from him. He's scored 13 goals since the start of last season, that shows how valuable he is to Wolves.

The spirit Wolves have at the whole club, to not give up and keep going, the result over Manchester City just summed that up.

  12. New decade, new signingpublished at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Liverpool v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Anfield is packed today for Liverpool's final home match of the decade and they will finish it with a comfortable lead at the top of the Premier League table, no matter what the result is.

They bring in the new year on 2 January against Sheffield United, back at Anfield again, but they will have a new addition to the squad then too.

Takumi Minamino, who signed from Red Bull Salzburg and will be with the squad officially from 1 January.

He is just the ninth player from Japan to make the switch to England and this fan from Thailand is already prepared (and excited!) to see him in a Liverpool shirt next year.

Get Involvedpublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    #bbcfootball

Jon Evans: Got to credit Lampard for the first-half sub. That moment changed the game. Arsenal were completely on top until that sub and after that Chelsea gained control of the game. Arsenal were solid until Leno error but Chelsea were pretty much in control after that sub.

Robin Best: Another game another shambles, it is getting all to boring now. A spell in the Championship will do these players a whole load of good as that seems to be the level of their abilities. I do not know if the team can be, or deserve to be, saved.

Ryan Howard: Cue everyone praising Lampard despite Arsenal throwing it away with goalkeeping errors and Saka's injury.

    Karen Carney
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

As a winger, I would not want to play against Trent Alexander-Arnold. He loves to attack the space in front of him. To get two goals and an assist is just unbelievable.

  17. World champions on showpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Liverpool v Wolves (16:30 GMT)

    Emma Sanders
    BBC Sport at Anfield

Liverpool will debut the gold Fifa Champions badge on their shirts today after they became Club World Cup champions in Qatar earlier this month.

It will be for a one-off occasion in the Premier League but Liverpool can wear the badge for any Champions League matches up to and including the final of the next edition of the Club World Cup tournament.

The badge is 78 mm by 57mm in size and will sit in the centre of the shirt, next to the famous Liverbird badge.

  18. 'Lampard's subs changed the game'published at 16:05 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Arsenal 1-2 Chelsea

    Chris Sutton
Former England striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Mikel Arteta will be devastated with the manner of the defeat. It was a terrible error from Bernd Leno and Arsenal were exploited by Chelsea. You could say poor referring has cost Arsenal as well - a cynical foul from Jorghino when he should have got a second yellow and been sent off. Credit to Chelsea because they responded after a poor first half. They were sharper, had more energy and determination. Frank Lampard was bound to have a rocky period with a lack of consistency and this is a big result for them. His substitutions changed the game - you wondered about Tariq Lamptey but he brought real energy.

  19. Team news - Lallana in, Jimenez & Traore on benchpublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019
