    Not the armpit again?!!

    No...no...it's quarter of a boot.

What the referee might not see is how high up his arm is. Personally, I think Adam Lallana moved his hand towards it. If you were a Wolves player you would be peeved. I have sympathy for them. The referees should be looking at the screens to view these incidents.

The replays shown on our small screens showed that was not handball. The fans behind the press box could see it too and were screaming "it's a goal, it's a goal, we can see it!" After what felt like an age, that message was eventually sent down to Anthony Taylor.

GOAL - Liverpool 1-0 Wolvespublished at 17:14 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Sadio Mane

    The eagle has landed.

    So to sum up.

The ball into the area came off the shoulder/armpit of Adam Lallana - it landed in the path of Sadio Mane who swept his shot past Rui Patricio.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is furious - is he making the point that Anthony Taylor's whistle went and his defenders stopped?

Bodgeman: Jimenez is excellent at holding the ball up. Traore takes two sometimes three with him and often beats them and crosses. Really missing them here.

Mark Taylor: No doubt if Wolves can cause an upset Klopp will whinge about another managers tactics playing 3-5-2 like United did and he called us defensive, should everyone just play 2-2-6 so they can continue winning every week?

CFCWarrior: Wolves are going to save the league today aren't they? Score draw I predict.

Can't help but think Raul Jimenez would have been useful to have on the pitch during some of these Wolves attacks.

Another foray into the Reds area ends with no effort on goal.

Everyone knows what Trent Alexander-Arnold can do from wide positions when it comes to putting balls in the box.

That was not one of his finest and you could hear his roar of frustration from the other side of the stadium.

Nuno Espirito Santo had his arms in the air, looking at his defenders and asking why he was allowed so much space.

Wolves have been controlled. The three centre-backs have not been pulled out of position by Liverpool. It's been good organisation from Wolves so far. It looks like Wolves have done their homework. You have to say this is relatively subdued for Liverpool and credit to Wolves for that.

Diogo Jota does brilliantly to try to find Ruben Neves following a great beavering run down the left but Sadio Mane performs his defensive duties and clears the danger.

It's all Liverpool at the moment. They are trying all the tricks in the book to break Wolves' very resolute defence down. It feels like a matter of time. Jurgen Klopp will be keen to see a goal before half time.

  16. 'Firmino should do better'published at 17:04 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2019

    Mark Lawrenson

I think Roberto Firmino should have done better there. He got his whole head on it and should have hit the target from there. Two-and-a-half chances for Liverpool so far you would have to say.

Wolves' Ruben Neves is currently face against grass after Adam Lallana catches him.

    He appears OK to continue.

Sadio Mane is allowed to turn in the area, but Ryan Bennett puts in a great block to deny what would have been a shot on target.

From the corner, Roberto Firmino heads a yard wide of Rui Patricio's left-hand upright.

Will we see a goal before the half is out?
