You would think Everton would come out firing after hearing from Carlo Ancelotti in the changing room, but it's quite the opposite.

The noise levels among the home fans are cranked up when their team runs at the away defence. Everton are managing to attack at pace and in numbers and Bernard was allowed to run at the Clarets players and slide a pass to Djibril Sidibe, but his effort was excellently blocked by Nick Pope.

But Everton have just had a warning at the other end. Ashley Westwood’s superb delivery from a deep free-kick found an unmarked Chris Wood six yards out. He headed over the top and would’ve been narrrowly offside but if you keep giving Burnley chances like that they will punish you.

Nick Pope slips as he takes the goal-kick and Richarlison runs the ball back towards the Burnley goalkeeper.

But his ball through is too long and the Clarets clear.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is picked out by Lucas Digne but his header drifts over the bar.

Still 0-0.

James Tarkowski tussles with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and brings the Everton striker down.

The free-kick is on the angle but Gylfi Sigurdsson's ball in is headed clear by the first man.

The Iceland international has not been at his best so far.

Chris Wood nods the ball over the Everton bar as Burnley venture forward, but replays suggest the striker was probably offside and it would not have counted if he had scored.

Carlo Ancelotti is being so Italian - it's hilarious! The actions that he's giving, the shrugs he's giving, the arms and the big, big sighs. He's a joy to watch!

Bernard feeds Djibril Sidibe out wide. His shot is well saved by the right foot of Nick Pope and Phil Bardsley nearly turns into his own net.

But the ball pops up and Burnley can clear. Everton getting closer.

Everton are doing well. They have kept their momentum going from Duncan Ferguson. The desire is there, the passing has sharpened up, which it needed to. Dominic Calvert-Lewin really needs to sharpen up in front of goal. If he could score more goals, he could be a superstar.

Burnley are able to scramble the ball clear but Everton regain possession.

This is starting to develop a pattern.
