Noel Fitzpatrick: At the rate VAR is going, Mikel Arteta will be ordering David Luiz and Matteo Guendouzi to get their hair cut for fear it would be playing players onside...and Brendan Rodgers would be having palpitations at Hamza Choudhury.

  7. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 14:10 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 Bournemouth

Aaron Mooy is purring along now, backheeling into the run of Neal Maupay who hits a low shot on target.

Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Mooy are then given a rest as Steven Alzate and Dale Stephens come on.

A 9/10 performance for me from Mooy.

  8. 'Mooy has been different class'published at 14:08 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 Bournemouth

    Steven Reid
Former Blackburn midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a beautiful finish. Every opportunity Brighton are now trying to get down Bournemouth's right-hand side because of Jack Stacey's injury. I'm screaming at Leandro Trossard to get at him but he plays an unbelievable ball. It's a great first touch from Aaron Mooy, the second touch is even better and the finish just sums up his afternoon. He's been different class.

GOAL - Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 Bournemouthpublished at 14:05 Greenwich Mean Time 28 December 2019

    Aaron Mooy (79 mins)

    Lovely, lovely, lovely, lovely goal!

He's been the game's best player and Aaron Mooy surely wraps up the victory for Brighton. The ball is clipped in from the left wing, Mooy takes it on his chest, chops inside the final defender and then side-foots it into the top corner.

    Fantastic goal.

James Downing: Yet another ridiculous joke ‘offside’ VAR decision. I genuinely can’t watch football anymore. The heart of the game has been destroyed in the pursuit of joyless, false perfection in a sport of energy, momentum and passion. The game is ruined and I’m switching off.

Brighton will be starting to get anxious, they've got themselves in this position a few times this season but not held on. Bournemouth have made the tactical switch that Karen mentioned a few minutes ago, it's going to be an interesting final 15 minutes of the game.

Handball? Jack Stacey misjudges a bounce and looks to handle it inside the area. I think that was actually hip but the VAR lads are going to have a look.

Bournemouth are getting overrun in midfield. They are playing with two in there and I think those substitutes should have brought about a formation change.
