  1. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:23 British Summer Time 24 October 2019

    Celtic 0-1 Lazio

Huge let-off for Celtic. A brilliant tackle from Francesco Acerbi stops Odsonne Edouard in his tracks and suddenly Lazio are in full flow.

Joaquin Correa turns inside Kristoffer Ajer but his low shot cannons back off the base of the post.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 62 mins

    Celtic 0-1 Lazio

Callum McGregor and Odsonne Edouard link on the edge of the penalty area but it's just too tight and the danger is cleared.

A frustrated Mohamed Elyounoussi is then booked for a foul at the halfway mark.

  3. Postpublished at 59 mins

    Celtic 0-1 Lazio

The visitors are caught messing about at the back and Odsonne Edouard is on to a loose ball inside the penalty box. He back-heels to Ryan Christie and the midfielder's hurried shot is blocked by a covering defender.

    Cooler heads needed there.

Groans from the home fans as Ryan Christie swivels and shoots high over the target from the edge of the penalty area.

Celtic are giving the ball away too easily. They need to keep it flowing but they also need composure. They seem to be giving it away every time they get it at the moment.

  6. Can Celtic unsettle Inzaghi's game plan?published at 21:12 British Summer Time 24 October 2019

    Celtic 0-1 Lazio

    Kheredine Idessane
BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic Park

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi won a title and cups as a player with the Rome side and also played for Italy. So he’s well versed in how to defend stoutly and hit clinically on the break. All the more pleasurable then, one would imagine, that this plan was executed to perfection under his watchful eye in an impressive first half from the visitors.

Celtic will need the same kind of intensity in the second period, added to a more forceful threat when they work the ball beyond the Italian midfield. For all their impressive play so far, there was no real end product to overly trouble Thomas Strakosha in the Lazio goal. In fact, I’m not sure he’s had a meaningful save to make so far.

A troubling start to the second half for the hosts, with lots of errant passes and none of the zip we saw in the first 30 minutes.

Celtic can call on their experience against Rennes, when they went behind and didn't panic. I don't think they will panic. I think Neil Lennon won't be happy with being behind but he will be happy with the performance so far.

This is a well drilled Italian team so movement is going to be key in the second half for Celtic. They need to keep the tempo up, if they do that they will surely get a couple of chances and it's just whether they can take them or not.

  12. Can Celtic find a way back?published at 21:00 British Summer Time 24 October 2019

    HT: Celtic 0-1 Lazio

Celtic fell behind in their opening group match in Rennes and battled back for a draw. Manager Neil Lennon will want to see that kind of spirit in the second half since a loss tonight would be very damaging ahead of a trip to Rome in a fortnight.

I didn't see it coming to be honest, but that's what European football can throw up. Celtic's approach play has been good but they haven't been able to move the three Lazio centre-backs out their positions to exploit them.

  14. Cluj lead 10-man Rennespublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 24 October 2019

    HT: Celtic 0-1 Lazio

Celtic started the evening on top of Group E but, as it stands, they are sitting third since Cluj are winning 1-0 in Rennes. The French side are down to 10 men after an early red card for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

  15. HALF-TIME Celtic 0-1 Laziopublished at 45 mins

The Italian visitors go up the tunnel with their noses in front following a cracking finish from Manuel Lazzari.

Celtic have had a lot of the ball and have played with good energy but haven't caused goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha too many problems.

The closest the hosts have come was with a shot from Ryan Christie which grazed the outside of the post.

You have to give credit to Lazzari - it's a brilliant run. He showed brilliant pace and it's a perfectly weighted pass. He never had to break his stride and he smashes it by Forster. Lazio don't deserve it, but you have to take your chances.

Celtic have been dominating but you can just see how capable Lazio are at hitting you on the counter, and what a counter attack it was! He has hit it with pace and I think it's took Forster by surprise. Celtic don't deserve that, they've played really well.

  19. goal

GOAL Celtic 0-1 Laziopublished at 39 mins

    Manuel Lazzari

It's harsh on Celtic but it's a fantastic counter-attacking goal from the visitors as Manuel Lazzari cuts in from the right and spanks a rising shot past an exposed Fraser Forster.

Celtic are annoyed they didn't get a corner from that deflected shot from Callum McGregor but they had plenty of time to cover up at the back.

Good work from Hatem Elhamed and Mohamed Elyounoussi as Celtic work another attack. Callum McGregor has a lash but his shot is deflected wide.
