Phenomenal energy and fitness from Celtic in the first half hour. Pressing high, snapping into challenges, basically not giving any of the Lazio players a minute’s peace. Can they maintain this intensity for the full 90 minutes? If they can, a good result could well be on the cards for the home side.

At the minute, Celtic are on top but Lazio have threatened on the break. When Celtic go on an attack they do leave space and their opponents have got in a few times.

Joaquin Correa and Scott Brown are embroiled in a mighty tussle, with the Lazio forward having a couple of hacks at the Celtic captain but Brown stays on his feet, shielding the ball for all he's worth until the referee finally blows for a foul.

A huge cheer from the home crowd as Brown just smiles at his frustrated opponent.

I think Lazio have been spooked by the intensity. Celtic are not giving them the respect they might usually get in other games, they are right in Lazio's face giving them no time on the ball.

There's an opportunity for Celtic in the wide areas with Lazio playing three at the back. It's offering a two-v-one situation when Celtic attack the wing-back and Forrest and Elhamed are getting joy with it.

It's important that Celtic get a foothold early on. Lazio have gone with three at the back and the two up top, they are going right up against Celtic.

  17. Europa League down Lazio's priority list?published at 19:57 British Summer Time 24 October 2019

Only five Lazio players who start the game at Celtic Park tonight began the 3-3 draw with Atalanta in Serie A at the weekend.

It seems the Rome side might have their focus on domestic duties rather than Europa League sucess. Their talisman, Italian marksman Ciro Immobile, is among the substitues despite having scored 10 goals this term.

Many of the Lazio fans are already inside Celtic Park but a group was filmed walking through Glasgow city centre making Nazi salutes earlier on Thursday.

There’s a dark cloud hanging over this match, with the visiting fans already bringing punishment on their club for racist behaviour in a previous Europa League match in this group.

Much has been made of Uefa’s three-step protocol after England’s match in Bulgaria was stopped twice when some of Gareth Southgate’s players were racially abused.

Celtic manager Neil Lennon, backed up by midfielder Ryan Christie, says he’ll have no problem with his players coming off if they’re racially abused at Celtic Park this evening. We also have the same referee who handled the England match last week and had to deal with racist behaviour from fans - Ivan Bebek from Croatia.

Loads of positives and Rangers could have won it. Porto didn't play well and it was all about Rangers. The discipline, the shape and transferring defence in to counter-attacking was all done really well.
