  1. Tavernier still on pens?published at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Ross County v Rangers (19:45)

Rangers suffered a bit of a slump at the weekend following a stellar showing away to Porto in the Europa League.

It looked like being a costly afternoon when Motherwell took the lead at Ibrox and James Tavernier thumped a penalty against the post but Jermain Defoe rattled in his 10th league goal of the season and Steven Gerrard's side prevailed when Filip Helander nodded in from a corner with 10 minutes to go.

An ugly win maybe but they all count...

A cold night in Dingwall is a far cry from the Estadio do Dragao, so Rangers will need to be switched on.

Tavernier, who netted 14 from 16 attempts last term, has now missed three spot-kicks this season. Will he stay on penalty duty?

  2. Can May make hay against Hearts?published at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

St Johnstone v Heart of Midlothian (19:45)

Stevie May used to love playing Hearts in his first spell with St Johnstone.

The striker scored five goals in his last three league outings against the Jambos for Saints, including a hat-trick in his last such game in January 2014.

However, he failed to net in six meetings with Hearts during his days at Aberdeen.

  3. Dicker on fire for in-form Killiepublished at 19:30 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Motherwell v Kilmarnock (19:45)

It's third v fourth at Fir Park, with Kilmarnock looking to make it four Premiership wins in a row.

Manager Angelo Alessio has his side well drilled in defence, with only one goal conceded in their past five games in all competitions.

Captain Gary Dicker has scored for two games running, having previously found the net in January 2017. Can the midfielder enforcer continue his unlikely streak?

Killie are unbeaten in five against Motherwell and have won 1-0 on their last two trips to Fir Park.

Motherwell have lost two on the spin after a promising start but manager Stephen Robinson was pleased with the energy and application show in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Ibrox.

  4. Buddies up against itpublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Celtic v St Mirren (19:45)

St Mirren fans can be forgiven for approaching Celtic Park with trepidation.

The Buddies have lost 12 games in a row in the east end of Glasgow since a 1-1 draw in December 2007 and have not won in 23 visits, going back to a 3-0 success in April 1990, which supporters still sing about to this day.

They have conceded four goals in each of their last three trips to Celtic Park and come into this one a run of five consecutive away defeats.

I could go on but I think you get the picture...

  6. Heckingbottom future 'on a knife-edge'published at 19:22 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Hibernian v Livingston (19:45)

Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom is back in the dugout after a two-match suspension and this is a big night for him.

Okay, the team is unbeaten in five outings in all competitions but they haven't won a league match since the opening weekend of the season and they just can't keep a lead.

Frustrated fans have been calling for Heckingbottom's head and former Hibs midfielder Michael Stewart reckons a lot is riding on this game.

"If they get beaten and let's say they get gubbed by Celtic at the weekend [League Cup semi-final], that could well be terminal," he said on Monday's edition of Sportsound.

"He's relatively new to the job but that runs out very quickly - and for a lot of supporters it's run out already.

"Things are really on a knife-edge. If they get a result against Livingston, they can say: 'We're unbeaten in five and we've won our last game.' They might get some positivity from it."

  7. Staggies seek first win over Rangerspublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Ross County v Rangers (19:45)

Ross County have never beaten Rangers in nine attempts and have lost three in a row since a 1-1 draw at Ibrox in February 2017.

The promoted Highlanders have gone four without a win in the league, including a 6-0 scudding at Celtic Park, but will be feeling better about themselves after coming from 2-0 down to draw at Hibs on Saturday.

  8. Same again for Saintspublished at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    St Johnstone v Hearts (19:45)

Tommy Wright has decided he won't change a good thing. After his side's first league win of the season on Saturday over Hamilton, the St Johnstone manager opts for the same starting XI.

Meanwhile, tonight's guests have made three changes. In defence, Aidan White comes in for Jamie Brandon, midfielder Loic Damour comes in for Andy Irving and up front Callum Morrison has been called in to the starting side for Ryotaro Meshino.

  9. Boyle boost for Hibeespublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Hibs v Livingston (19:45)

Some good news for Hibs fans pre-game tonight as Martin Boyle features in a league squad for the first time this season as he makes his return from a knee injury to make the bench. Meanwhile, manager Paul Heckingbottom makes four changes as Tom James, Glenn Middleton, Daryl Hogan and Christian Doidge come in for Jason Naismith, Josh Vela, Joe Newell and Florian Kamberi.

For Livingston, Aymen Souda’s fast-track appeal for his red card against Hearts has been rejected and he’ll now be suspended for two matches. The Frenchman is replaced by Craig Sibbald. Hakeem Odoffin comes in for the injured Nicky Devlin, and the third and final change sees Scott Pittman in for Keaghan Jacobs.

  10. Jackson makes full Killie debutpublished at 19:11 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Motherwell v Kilmarnock (19:45)

Kilmarnock have made a couple of attacking changes as they attempt to improve their goalscoring record - only St Mirren have scored fewer.

Simeon Jackson makes his first start for the visitors, replacing Eamonn Brophy who has led the line for all but one league match this season, and Liam Millar also drops out for winger Dom Thomas. Defender Alex Bruce comes in for the injured Stuart Findlay.

Just the one change for Motherwell from their 2-1 defeat to Rangers, as winger Jermaine Hylton replaces central defender Bevis Mugabi.

    James McFadden
Former Scotland forward on BBC Radio Scotland

    Quote Message

Greg Taylor is a very confident young player and that will stand him in good stead tonight. He has been frustrated he hasn't had a chance until now, but you need to bide your time and make the most of it when it comes.

  12. Taylor makes Celtic debutpublished at 19:07 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Celtic v St Mirren (19:45)

Scotland international left-back Greg Taylor makes his Celtic debut almost two months after his deadline-day move from Kilmarnock.

Moritz Bauer is handed a rare start at right-back and Ryan Christie returns from suspension in midfield. Dropping out from Sunday's 4-0 rout of Aberdeen are Boli Bolingoli, Jeremie Frimpong and Tom Rogic.

St Mirren, beaten 1-0 at Kilmarnock on Saturday, also make three changes. Cammy MacPherson, Tony Andreu and Danny Mullen make way for Calum Waters, Ilkay Durmus and Ryan Flynn.

  13. McGregor missing for Rangers, Graham in for Countypublished at 19:05 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Ross County v Rangers (19:45)

Steven Gerrard makes five changes to the side that edged past Motherwell on Sunday, including a change in goal. Allan McGregor misses out with a shoulder injury sustained at the weekend, so in comes Wes Foderingham.

Ryan Jack, Glen Kamara, Sheyi Ojo and Alfredo Morelos also return to the XI with Steven Davis, Greg Stewart and Jermain Defoe dropping to the bench, and Brandon Barker out the squad altogether.

As for Ross County, both Joe Chalmers and Brian Graham are rewarded with starts for their goalscoring exploits off the bench in the 2-2 comeback draw with Hibernian on Saturday. Ross Stewart returns to partner Graham up front with Billy McKay and Michael Gardyne on the bench. Tom Grivosti comes into the defence in place of Keith Watson.On-loan Celtic player Ewan Henderson also drops out.

  14. Three changes apiece for Accies & Donspublished at 19:03 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    Hamilton v Aberdeen (19:45)

    John Barnes
    BBC Scotland at FOYS

A crisp autumnal night in Lanarkshire for this encounter as Aberdeen arrive looking for a boost after being humbled by Celtic on Sunday. However, the Dons have not had the best of results on Hamilton’s artificial surface recently, having achieved only one win from their last five visits.

Accies are also looking for a victory that would possibly give them a bit of daylight between themselves and the four clubs below them at the foot of the table. Their present run sees them having won only one of their last eight league matches. But home form is good overall having lost only two of their last 10 league matches.

Three changes for both teams. For Accies in come Ross Cunningham, Lewis Smith and Jamie Hamilton. Out go Aaron McGowan, Brain Easton and Adrian Beck.

For Aberdeen, Lewis Ferguson, Craig Bryson and Ryan Hedges start as Michael Devlin, Connor McLennan and Jon Gallagher drop out.

  15. Basement battle in Perthpublished at 19:00 Greenwich Mean Time 30 October 2019

    St Johnstone v Hearts (19.45)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at McDiarmid Park

At the start of the season few would have thought St Johnstone and Hearts would be contesting a bottom of the table encounter 11 games in to the campaign.

That is exactly what is happening at McDiarmid Park tonight as Saints, who prop up the table, host the capital club who are precariously placed just a point above them.

St Johnstone will be looking to build on their weekend win over Hamilton Accies – their first league victory of the season – another three points tonight would lift them off the bottom.

You have to go back nine years for the last time Hearts managed to get a league win in Perth.

A victory here would not only improve their Premiership position, it would also set the visitors up nicely for Sunday’s League Cup semi-final date with Rangers at Hampden.
