Summary

  • Glasgow won first leg in Denmark 2-0

  • They have only made the last eight once in their 21-year history

  • City sealed their 13th consecutive title last week

  1. HALF-TIMEpublished at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

We're halfway through extra-time, and Scott Booth's side are beginning to turn the screw. Brondby barely in City's half in the first period and the home side came so close to a potential winner just before the whistle.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:40 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

So close from City! Leanne Ross delivered a superb free-kick and Jenna Clark rises above everyone to head it off the bar. It looked to fall to Sam Kerr but somehow the visitors kept it from bundling into the net. More penalty shouts for handball and high feet during that chance.

A lot of unhappy fans here who think City should have been awarded 2 penalties in regulation time.

The home crowd wanted a penalty when Emilie Henriksen raised her hand to block Megan Foley's shot towards the end of regular time

  4. CLOSE!published at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Hayley Lauder does well to find Sam Kerr on the right, but she skies it over the bar. The Brondby keeper - the same one who practically scooped the ball into her own net in the first leg - has yet to be truly tested in this match, despite some good spells of pressure from City.

  5. CLOSE!published at 21:30 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Josefine Hasbo finds space in the penalty box and lays it back to Julie Tavlo Petersson, who pulls her shot just wide. She went for power instead of placement and will be disappointed - that was a golden chance.

  6. INJURYpublished at 21:28 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Leanne Ross is down and receiving treatment for what looks like a back problem - she is pushed and was down for a couple of minutes, but like plenty of her teammates tonight, is shaking it off and carrying on.

  7. KICK-OFFpublished at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

We're off once more - there are some heavy legs out there but both sides fighting furiously for every ball in the opening minutes of extra-time.

  8. EXTRA TIMEpublished at 21:23 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

180 minutes cannot separate these two sides - two away goals from City were answered with two first-half away goals from Brondby.

It looked to be slipping away from Scott Booth's side, but the final half hour of the game saw them putting Brondby under real pressure.

The hosts will be disappointed not to win a late penalty with Emilie Henriksen raising her hand to block a Megan Foley shot.

  9. Postpublished at 21:18 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

We're into the three additional minutes and Brondby are camped in their own half - City applying the pressure to try and get the winner before extra-time.

  10. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 21:17 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Possible handball there - Emilie Henriksen blocks Megan Foley's shot with an arm raised. She blocks the ball with her elbow and City will feel Sara Persson should be pointing to the spot for that.

  11. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 21:15 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Kirsty Howat takes a second one for the team - she's been struck in the face by the ball twice in the space of ten minutes. She's up and running once more...

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:13 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Lee Alexander has put in a breathtaking performance, and just saved her side again. Nicoline Sorensen through on goal, tries to lift it over the keeper and Alexander knocks it wide for a corner. The resulting corner needed to be dealt with by the keeper and she collects it once more.

  13. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 21:08 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Lee Alexander rises up to collect a dangerous ball in from Brondby, and clatters into Rachel McLauchlan in the process. She may have felt like allowing herself some time to shake that off under most circumstances, but with a little over 10 minutes to go, she's straight back up. Some City players obviously running on pure adrenaline after an exhausting game.

  14. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Brondby's corner looked to be a poor one but bent in to hit the near post - City scramble the ball clear in a panic as Brondby begin to regain control of possession after a promising spell from City.

  15. It's nervy as we enter the final 15....published at 21:03 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

    Heather Dewar
    BBC Scotland reporter on Sportsound

The nervous energy is palpable here... City really need to put a goal away to get themselves out of danger. Brondby fast and defending superbly - City barely getting a look in on goal.

  16. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 21:00 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Kirsty Howat takes one for the team there - she's been hit directly in the face with the ball. Swedish referee Sara Persson sends her to the side to make sure she is alright, but Howat keen to get back on straight away as her side chase a winner here.

  17. Postpublished at 20:58 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Kirsty Howat's cross is too deep but better from City, they are starting to keep the ball a lot better and are finding some joy down the right side.

  18. Abel not being tested in goalpublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

City still unable to create clear-cut chances against a steely Brondby defence. Given the howler from their keeper in the first leg, it may only take a half-chance for Scott Booth's side to take the lead, but at the moment they're not getting close to Katrine Abel's goal.

  19. Postpublished at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Brondby picks up the ball far too easily in City's half but Josefine Hasbo is unable to take advantage of loose passing with a failed through-ball. Slack from the home side.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 2019

Glasgow City 0-2 Brondby (2-2 agg)

Rachel McLauchlan makes a bad mistake with Frederikke Lindhardt robbing the ball off her just on the edge of the box to set up a one on one with Lee Alexander - yet another brilliant save to deny Brondby from going ahead.
