Winger Rachel McLauchlan wanted City to "shut down" their opponents and stop them from grabbing an early goal, and settle by scoring themselves.

It has unfortunately not worked out so far, and things will need to change after the break to stop the game from quickly slipping away from Scott Booth's side.

Lee Alexander has been superb for the home side - and but for a few spectacular saves Brondby could have already been ahead here.

A terrible time to lose for City less than 10 minutes before half-time. Louise Kristiansen powered through with a great one-two and despite plenty of Glasgow City players in their box, it falls to Frederikke Lindhardt who puts the visitors level on aggregate with a shot lifted over Lee Alexander.

Megan Foley was driving down the left and allowed City a rare moment in the final third, but Brondby are quick to move back into their defensive shape when off the ball and gather it easily. Bar the one cross into Megan Foley in the opening couple of minutes, Scott Booth's side have barely been able to mount a threatening attack in the first quarter of an hour.

City hold a slender advantage now across the two legs, and have struggled to carry the ball into the opposition half. In comparison, Brondby looking slick with their quick passing and are really taking the game to the home side.

    Nanna Christiansen

Lee Alexander pulled off a great save to deny Nicoline Sorensen as the top scorer in the Danish league came close, but just a couple of minutes later Nanna Christiansen met a great cross with a looping header across the keeper. It has been a lively start for Brondby - City have to slow the fast-paced game.
