    Man Utd 1-0 Norwich

Norwich are struggling to hold the ball up. It's a tough gig for Adam Idah up there on his own against Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof - but it means the ball is constantly coming back at the visitors, who are yet to have any attempts on goal.

Norwich are being outplayed in midfield. I asked a lot about the Manchester United midfield before the game but so far they have been utterly dominant.

Fred has won most of the stuff in there and Matic has just cruised through the game.

The Norwich players just can't get involved.

So much time... but he still took too long.

Anthony Martial finds space on the edge of the Norwich box, sizes up the target and finally looks to pull the trigger, but it's nicked away from the forward before he can get a shot off.

    Man Utd 1-0 Norwich

Fred is the latest United player to fancy his chances, throwing a left peg at Brandon Williams' pass from the top of the area but guiding it beyond the far post.

  5. 'Such a good ball' from Matapublished at 15:33 Greenwich Mean Time 11 January 2020

When you see that ball come in from Juan Mata, you’re laughing before you put the ball in the back of the net.

Marcus Rashford is having to keep a straight face, it’s such a good ball.

Just one of the very few opportunities that Norwich have had to get upfield and of course that is what Manchester United were waiting for - the chance to break at pace.

Lovely ball from Mata, cutting in from the right side on to his left foot.

At the back post - just like a centre forward should be - Rashford is there with good pace but calm when the ball comes in.

Super goal, 1-0 up, they deserve it.

    Non-stop Manchester United pressure now.

Marcus Rashford gets a lucky break on the left and decides to have a crack, but Tim Krul watches it all the way into his arms.

Andreas Pereira gets a snapshot off from the edge of the box. It finds the target but is straight at Tim Krul. Easy save for the Norwich stopper.

    Spoke too soon.

Juan Mata cross, converted by Marcus Rashford.

That's cheered the home fans up.

It's bad news for the Canaries though, they have lost all 13 games when going behind in the league this season.

    Marcus Rashford (27 mins)

    Wonderful delivery, smart finish!

This is all about Juan Mata, easing his way in from the right and winding a perfectly-weighted cross with his left foot into the path of Marcus Rashford.

The United forward dangles out a toe and guides it beyond Tim Krul in the Norwich goal from close range.

    He almost gets that chance!

Todd Cantwell collects the ball on the left and dribbles towards the United box before sliding a ball across the area, but Adam Idah is just edged off it by Harry Maguire.

    Good defending.

Little change from anything United have produced this season.

This has been the problem against teams at the lower end of the table, they have all the possession but create very little in the final third.

Juan Mata's form has been extremely poor and the Spaniard has been anonymous so far, the team have managed zero shots on target.

    Man Utd 0-0 Norwich

Adam Idah had only played one minute of Premier League football before today. Now the 18-year-old is starting up top for Norwich at Old Trafford.

He's seen very little of the ball and was dragged all the way back towards his own corner flag there to help out the visitors' defence.

Sure he'd love just one chance in the opposition box...

Nice that from Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The right-back flicks the ball over Todd Cantwell's head and storms down the right only to see his cross nodded away.

It feels like only a matter of time until Manchester United muster a decent effort on goal.

The hosts look in total control, but that wall of yellow Norwich defenders is holding firm at the moment.

22 passes attempted so far by Fred, the most of any player on the pitch after 20 minutes.

The Brazilian has his detractors but has shown a good improvement in recent months, with bundles of energy and decent defensive work.

But he badly needs a mobile partner in midfield beside him, Nemanja Matic attempting the job this afternoon.

Wan Bissaka is pushing up on the right, as a winger not as a right-back. That is taking up so much time of Cantwell and strangling their main source of creativity.

    Man Utd 0-0 Norwich

Norwich produce their best football of the match so far only to see the move snuffed out on the edge of the Manchester United area - and within moments they're having to defend a corner. Such is United's speed on the break.

Anthony Martial was the man with the driving run into the box. The Canaries survive the following set-piece.

  19. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Man Utd 0-0 Norwich

Marcus Rashford sits several Norwich defenders down with a direct run into the visitors' half.

United work it left for Brandon Williams to have a dig, but the teenager blazes over from the edge of the box.

Was Anthony Martial caught in the area there? The Manchester United forward almost stumbles but manages to stay on his feet under the challenge of Christoph Zimmermann - playing a dangerous game, the Norwich defender.

I think VAR has had a look and decided there was nothing in it.

    United look threatening though.
