  1. Postpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 1-0 Bournemouth

Oh, there was a chance for the Cherries. A corner causes chaos in the home box, with it momentarily stuck in the absence of a meaningful touch from either attacking or defensive players. The home defence is marginally quickest to react, though, and the ball is evetually smuggled away.

The away side have all the odds stacked against them, but while it is 1-0 they have a chance.

  2. Postpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Man City 0-1 Crystal Palace

Lots of huff and puff from Manchester City but a surprising lack of quality in the final third. Crystal Palace will go seventh if they can hold on to their lead.

  3. CLOSE!published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Arsenal 1-0 Sheff Utd

Granit Xhaka clears off the line as substitute Billy Sharp almost scores with his first touch. Blades fans think Xhaka handled before clearing but a VAR check sees nothing untoward.

  4. Postpublished at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 1-0 Bournemouth

Callum Wilson isn't happy. He thinks he should have had a penalty following a tussle with Christoph Zimmermann in the box. VAR checks it and sees nothing worthy of a spot-kick. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Liz Tray: Pep has left Mahrez on the bench, Yias (15.58) because we have another game, away, on Tuesday. These armchair managers are so smart!

Harry Clark: I'm not sure we should still be calling Man City "defending" champions. Although technically true. Suggests they are putting up a defence....

Phil Beck: Pep said yesterday that he's not leaving City unless he's sacked, to put the fans at ease no doubt. Is he now doing what he can to get the sack?

The Neutral One: Not Premier League but I think Erling Braut Haaland needs a shout out for scoring a 20 minute hat-trick on his Dortmund debut.

To think, he could have been doing this for Manchester United this season.

  7. 'West Ham are struggling defensively'published at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    West Ham 1-1 Everton

    Matt Upson
Former England and West Ham defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

Far more attacking play and creativity in the second half. Both teams are looking to get wide. West Ham are really struggling defensively on the left hand side and Everton have already opened them up twice. It's much more promising from the attacking players.

  8. Postpublished at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    West Ham 1-1 Everton

Oh! Jordan Pickford drops a simple catch and there's a moment of panic in the Everton defence before Mason Holgate hacks clear off the line.

  9. Postpublished at 16:12 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 1-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth are digging in to keep Norwich at bay, but they need more than that now. They need to find a way to get back on level terms and as it stands they're offering nothing to suggest it is on the cards.

  10. Postpublished at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Arsenal 1-0 Sheff Utd

The visitors have a free kick as Granit Xhaka goes in late on Oli McBurnie but Oliver Norwood's delivery is too close to Bernd Leno.

Looks like Sheffield United are considering an attacking change as they chase an equaliser with Billy Sharp warming up.

  11. goal

GOAL - Southampton 2-1 Wolvespublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Pedro Neto

The game is far from over now!

Wolves are back in it as Pedro Neto shows superb skill to bring down Adama Traore's cross, hold off a defender before spinning and firing in.

    Excellent goal.

  12. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:09 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Southampton 2-0 Wolves

Saints go close again as Long rises to meet a cross and plants his header against the post and wide.

They want to put this game to bed ASAP.

  13. CLOSE!published at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Man City 0-1 Crystal Palace

Raheem Sterling finds a rare pocket of space inside the box but bends his shot over the far post.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 16:08 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 1-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth players think the ref might be about to even up the numbers at Carrow Road as Buendia raises his boot and catches Rico in the face. Only ever going to be a yellow, though.

  15. Postpublished at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    West Ham 1-1 Everton

Good early pressure from Everton as substitute Anthony Gordon fires over before Tom Davies nods just wide.

  16. 'Lethal in front of goal'published at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Arsenal 1-0 Shef Utd

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on Football Focus

It won't be long before Martinelli will be chosen for the Brazilian squad. He is lethal in front of goal. So far under Arteta, so good.

  17. Postpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Man City 0-1 Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have seven players back in their box to defend a cross and no surprises that it is headed away. Gabriel Jesus is warming up for the hosts.

Chris Clee: Saints for Europe. #bbcfootball Was utterly dispondent after the 0-9 result against Leicester but Hassenhuttl has transformed the team's mentality.

Loser 92: At this rate Liverpool will have the league sewn up before the end of March.

  19. Postpublished at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 1-0 Bournemouth

Bournemouth get themselves into trouble with sloppy play at the back but Norwich can't capitalise as Emiliano Buendia curls a shot well off target from range.

Spoornado: The scenes if Palace go on to win this. A former Everton struggler scores the winner to put City further behind Liverpool!

Richard Browne: The league is so crazy this year. How can a team as bad as United be 5th? All around fail harder.

Mike Fisher: Man City are going for the title - the title of the weakest defence of a title in Premier League history!
