Qaaltagh: Where's the consistency in the application of the handball rule? We've already seen penalties been given for similar 'handballs' after VAR checks this season. Why are UK referees finding it so hard to LOOK AT A REPLAY and see what is quite literally in front of them?

Richard Browne: So what is the random handball rule implementation this week?

Akhil Dhoot: Okay, that was a horrible decision by VAR! Was a clear penalty. VAR not helping it's cause. Correctly used while awarding penalty to Wolves, horrible decision for City. Only thing that still remains consistent is inconsistency with referring decisions

It's about time a referee has looked at a monitor. We have been calling for it week after week after week. If you are unsure, just go and look.

    Sergio Aguero

    Late leveller!

The hosts have been pushing and pushing but were looking like going home empty handed until Sergio Aguero manages to get on the end of Gabriel Jesus' cross.

Can they go on and get a winner?

  6. Postpublished at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 18 January 2020

    Norwich 1-0 Bournemouth

Norwich are suddenly having to defend, having been largely comfortable for much of this second half.

Dominic Solanke is on for Bournemouth, who are desperately seeking a leveller.

Francis goes close to getting it with a header that lacks any power, making it easier for Krul to gather.

Shkodran Mustafi hooks away superbly with Billy Sharp lurking just behind him. The Blades have a corner and Oli McBurnie meets Oliver Norwood's deliver but the striker heads straight at Bernd Leno.

Dan: They should be shown three angles at the VAR centre, each for ten seconds. If there's no verdict they should stick with original decision, it would cut the time down. Just forget about the monitors on pitch because the refs seem to not care about them anyway.

Richard Jackson: VAR in its current form is killing the spirit of the game. If a decision can't be made at a glance then how can it be used to overrule clear and obvious errors. If it takes longer than 30 seconds then it should default to what the on-pitch referee gave.

    West Ham 1-1 Everton

A Robert Snodgrass free-kick is cleared at the near post as West Ham push for a winner. They are looking the most likely to get it at the moment.

    Norwich 1-0 Bournemouth

    Now then...

This makes the last 12 minutes interesting! Godfrey's challenge - on subsequent viewing on the screen - is deemed to be a red. To be fair, he did crunch Wilson's ankle.

It will be 10 v 10 for the remainder. Can Bournemouth get the scores level?
