  1. CLOSE!published at 20:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Everton 1-0 Newcastle

Moise Kean links up with Theo Walcott, who slips it through to Bernard. He's only got the keeper to beat and goes for the chip but it sails over the netting.

What a chance! Everton have come out the blocks on fire!

  2. Postpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Aston Villa 0-1 Watford

Anwar El Ghazi has space to cut it back from the left but his touch is awful and it ends up running out for a goal kick.

  3. goal

GOAL - Crystal Palace 0-2 Southamptonpublished at 20:36 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Stuart Armstrong (48 mins)

    Wooof! Another pearler for Southampton!

At first view you think Vicenete Guaita should do better in the Palace net but when you see the replay from behind the goal it's all credit to Stuart Armstrong.

He gets a square pass maybe 25 yards out, centrally, and whips it from the middle of the goal in off the keeper's right-hand post. Beckham-esque whippage.

    Sheff Utd 0-0 Man City

This penalty doesn't look good from any angle for Gabriel Jesus. I think it is what they call a good height for a keeper.

Can you imagine how far into the top corner Kevin de Bruyne would put a penalty?

Alireza Jahanbakhsh is a nightmare name to type. Takes me forever. We should just call him Ali Jahan.

Paul Collins: Is Lacazette playing? (I know he is but have only heard him mentioned once literally 30 seconds ago and he isn't getting involved at all) Ozil would be getting slaughtered for the same.

  7. CLOSE!published at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Bournemouth 2-0 Brighton

Alireza Jahanbakhsh drills one from outside the box but it takes a heavy deflection off Nathan Ake.

It ends up boucing inches wide of the right post!

  8. Postpublished at 20:35 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Southampton

Wilfried Zaha gets away from JWP on the pitch now and lifts a ball on, it's helped on by Jordan Ayew and Cenk Tosun heads wide.

Palace were well off the pace in the first half but that's a bright start.

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:34 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Everton 1-0 Newcastle

Moise Kean has space to run into and he does, sprinting down the middle. He plays the right pass to Bernard on his left but it's too heavy and pushes him wide.

Bernard tees it up for someone to head in the six-yard box but there's a bundle to clear it before Kean ends up waving a leg at air. Keeper Martin Dubravka eventually gobbles it up.

  10. Postpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Crystal Palace 0-1 Southampton

Wilfried Zaha still looks furious as the sides come back out. No idea what that was all about.

The bottom of the table as it stands. Work to do for Villa. Bournemouth doing all they can.

Off the bar! That's a cross, let's be honest, but Callum Hudson-Odoi sees his ball in clip the top of the crossbar and out.

    Arsenal hanging on.

Luke: So Watford to stay up, Pearson to get sacked in the summer, Ranieri to be appointed and Watford win the league next season?

NUFC 1-0 down at half time and no real attacking options on the bench. Not sure why we signed another midfielder today. Sort it out Brucie!

Getting back under way in the other games. Will there be a goal at Bramall Lane? Can Everton hold on? Any comeback from Villa?

Big big chance there. Tammy had a free header but just couldn't get the power on it. Big chance.

  17. CLOSE!published at 20:30 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal

It's been all Chelsea, who are raiding at will down the Arsenal right. Chance again - Toni Rudiger heads a cross back into the mixer and Tammy Abraham nuts it straight at Bernd Leno.

Ah he should score really, the big man. A great chance.

David Ljunggren: How nice of Newcastle to take pity on a struggling striker and allow him to score his first goal. Heartwarming, in fact. Now perhaps we could focus on scoring one of our own?
