    Everton 0-0 Newcastle

Hang on, it's opening up a bit now. Moise Kean drives down the centre as Everton break. He hits it early and low but it's palmed away for a corner.

    That's better!

Still pretty quiet at Goodison. Djibril Sidibe drills it powerfully from the edge of the box but it's straight at the keeper.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Southampton

Speaking of hefty challenges Southampton aren't happy with one from Jairo Riedewald on Cedric Soares which leaves the full-back in pain.

Riedewald gets a toe to the ball but plenty of Portuguese on his follow-through.

Give over Liz. We have yellow cards for a reason.

Liz Tray: Why is VAR not reviewing that? The ref should see it again on the monitor. It is reckless and dangerous from Besic. Out of control, into the ankle. How is that not a red card?

    Aston Villa 0-0 Watford

Gerard Deulofeu is up against Tyrone Mings just outside the six yard box. He stands him up, tries two stepovers but Mings just muscles him off it.

    Solid defending.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Southampton

Southampton's pressing is causing Palace a lot of trouble, they can't get going out from the back at all.

Kyle: With the amount of injuries we have had at Newcastle and the fact our attacking players have hardly scored any goals between them this season. The job Steve Bruce is doing is superb we are closer to the top 6 than the bottom 3. He deserves way more credit.

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton

Alireza Jahanbakhsh has a pop from long range and it deflects out for a corner. Aaron Mooy plays it short to Pascal Gross but his cross is loosely cleared.

    Bit of a waste.

  10. 'Not a good challenge'published at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Sheffield United 0-0 Manchester City

That's not a good tackle at all. It wasn't really late but he's caught him on the ankle, he's gone sliding in with his studs. There's no malice but it's not a good challenge.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Sheffield United 0-0 Manchester City

Aymeric Laporte has given the ball away cheaply twice on his return to the first team but makes a cracking challenge down in the corner.

From the throw-in Mo Besic chases the Frenchman down and slides right through him, catching Laporte on the ankle and earning a booking.

    He'll be OK I think.

  12. Everton upping the tempopublished at 19:43 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Everton 0-0 Newcastle

    Alistair Magowan
    BBC Sport at Goodison Park

Scrappy start at Goodison, but Newcastle are a touch quicker to the loose ball so far. Looking forward to Dominic Calvert-Lewin versus Jamaal Lascelles, that'll be a right battle, although how the Everton striker or Moise Kean didn't get on the end of that Theo Walcott cross, I don't know.

Everton starting to up the tempo now as the crowd up the volume.

    Aston Villa 0-0 Watford

No shots on target yet. Bit tame. No surprise both teams are playing cautiously given what is at stake.

Manchester City have to find those little pockets. Out of possession Sheffield United are going to 5-3-2, City have to find the space or they're not going to find a way through.

  15. Postpublished at 19:41 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton

Bournemouth try to work it out of a tight space in the left corner but there's no avenue through.

Pascal Gross hoofs it up the pitch and Brighton eventually win it back. Aaron Mooy then curls a good ball in from the left but there's nobody there to get on the end of it.

Miguel Almiron charges down the right for Newcastle and there's a three-on-two. He waits to make the pass but waits too long and it's cut out on the edge of the box.

Theo Walcott goes straight down the other end and drills a decent ball in. It's inches behind Moise Kean and Dominic Calvert-Lewin who throw their arms behind their heads. They can't believe it!

  18. Postpublished at 19:39 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

Bitty game so far at Selhurst, both sides struggling to get much going in these early stages.

  19. Postpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January 2020

    Bournemouth 0-0 Brighton

This is a decent start from Brighton.

They move up the pitch in numbers before the cross comes in from the right. Bernardo is waiting to pounce at the back post but Harry Wilson gets an important touch on it to knock it out for a corner.

Dominic Solanke then carries out his defensive duties to bundle Adam Webster off the ball on the resulting set-piece.

The ball around the corner from Oliver McBurnie wasn't meant for Billy Sharp but it created a half opportunity for Sheffield United.
