    Quote Message

If we had done the basics in the first half this could've been a canter. It was an embarrassing first half, but we've turned it around without getting too carried away

  3. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 84 mins

Oli Burke is left prone on the turf as he barged over near the right edge of the box after controlling with his head. The defender seemed to have lost his bearings and is a lucky man.

For me that's a straight red card. It's over the top of the ball and out of control. It's a leg breaker

    Ouch!published at 81 mins

    Scotland 2-1 Kazakhstan

Ryan Jack is in pain as he takes a straight leg to the knee from Kazakhstan substitute Kuat.

It's a yellow card but could easily have been red.

The good news is that the Rangers midfielder is back on his feet and looking okay.

  7. 'Scots need a third goal to settle this'published at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2019

    Scotland 2-1 Kazakhstan

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport Scotland at Hampden

The tempo has dropped a little and Scotland could do with lifting it to find a killer third goal. Otherwise I anticipate a rather nervy final 10 minutes. But some of the Scots’ play has been very easy on the eye in the second half.

    Scotland 2-1 Kazakhstan

Steven Naismith gets a warm round of applause as he trots off for a well-earned rest. The scorer of Scotland's second goal is replaced by Oliver Burke.

The pace has dipped a little now that Scotland are in front. The home side are still well on top though.

Maybe it's time for fresh legs as Steve Clarke seeks a third goal to put this to bed.

Scotland have been fortunate, but their play deserves that. They've been much more up for it. They've been closing Kazakhstan down, there's been constant pressure and chance after chance

Scotland piling on the pressure now as the keeper flaps at a Greg Taylor cross to concede a corner. Scott McKenna looks to have a free jump at the corner but gets it all wrong. The ball falls for Callum McGregor and his shot is blocked by a stretching defender inside a busy penalty box.

  16. Scotland showing second-half 'intent'published at 21:05 Greenwich Mean Time 19 November 2019

    Scotland 1-1 Kazakhstan

    Billy Dodds

Scotland had to come out second half and show that intent straight away. They should've been doing this from the start but they are doing the basics now and closing down players with intent as well

  17. CLOSE!published at 58 mins

Much better from Scotland now as Liam Palmer cuts in from the right to find Steven Naismith at the near post. The experienced striker gets a first-time shot away but a defender gets a toe in to deflect it wide.
