Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Let me just set the scene for what is one of my favourite bits of this match so far:
Blackburn play a backpass to goalkeeper Christian Walton and Wigan midfielder Michael Jacobs tries to put him under pressure and dispossess him at the same time by sliding in.
However, Jacobs just keeps going and going...and going as sarcastic cheers ring around the ground.
That being said, he was reasonably close to embarrassing the hosts there!
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
The Blackburn supporters are urging their side on as Wigan make another run into their box.
Gavin Massey lofts a ball over the top to Jamal Lowe, but the Latics man can't quite turn in his effort at an acute angle and he wins a corner for his trouble.
That eventually comes to nothing, but the visitors are definitely still in the ascendancy.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Ryan Nyambe is brought down by Michael Jacobs and a rare Blackburn dalliance into the Wigan half results in a free-kick by the corner flag.
After some delay, courtesy of some pushing and shoving in the box, it's sent in by Stewart Downing and it deflects away for a corner.
That's played short by Downing and eventually it goes into the box where Wigan keeper Jamie Jones saves from Darragh Lenihan's header.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Josh Windass has again somehow found enough time and space on the corner of the Blackburn box to curl a shot goalbound.
Blackburn keeper Christian Walton is once again wise to his efforts and makes a save but you can't help but think if it weren't for him, the hosts could be behind by now.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Wigan have 58% possession and eight touches in the opposition box to Blackburn's two.
That's the story of the half so far - 20 minutes remain until half-time and, to be honest, Wigan look more likely to go into the dressing rooms on top.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Josh Windass is having a cracker of a game for Wigan. He picks up the ball deep into Blackburn's half and rushes towards the box.
The hosts try to make chase but Windass drops a shoulder to beat his marker and deliver a ball into the box which escapes his onrushing teammates.
Boos ring around Ewood Park from the home support. They aren't happy.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
My word, Blackburn are all over the place.
Jamal Lowe finds a bit of space to control the ball, sees the onrushing Michael Jacobs and tees him up in the Blackburn box.
The Wigan winger then has all the time and space in the world to unleash a low shot towards goal which Rovers keeper Christian Walton collects.
Walton spent the past two seasons as Wigan's regular keeper, on loan from Brighton, but this season the Seagulls have lent him to Blackburn instead. This is his first time facing his former club.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
This is all Wigan so far. Gavin Massey puts in another ball into the box, this time under some pressure from Blackburn's defence.
His effort cannons off Stewart Downing's back and into the path of Jamal Lowe but Blackburn just about clear their lines.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Wigan boss Paul Cook isn't one to perch himself quietly on the sidelines.
Encouraged by his side's bright start, he's bellowing to his players to push upfield.
An early goal could be huge for the Latics.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Credit to Paul Cook's Wigan, if you weren't aware, you'd never know they were currently bottom of the league.
Jamal Lowe puts in a dangerous cross into the box which is scooped up by Blackburn keeper Christian Walton but they break again.
Gavin Massey puts in another right-wing cross, this time to Josh Windass, who can't quite hit the target.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Pasta Steve: Expecting a big win for Rovers tonight, although this is exactly the kind of game we have ended up losing the past few seasons!
Rovers HAVE lost at home to Luton and Charlton this season but come on Steve, surely Blackburn's fine recent run should fill you with optimism...
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
At the other end, Lee Evans sees Wigan's first shot on goal well blocked before the ball falls to Josh Windass, who's tackled by Derrick Williams to quell the danger.
An entertaining start, this!
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Big shouts for a penalty from Blackburn's supporters but referee Gavin Ward signals for a corner instead.
Danny Graham races into the Wigan box and Kal Naismith puts in a pinpoint tackle to clear the danger, upending the Blackburn striker in the process.
Television replays show that Ward - who later changes his mind to issue a Wigan free-kick, for handball, it appears - got it right. Cracking challenge.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Bradley Dack is already making his mark for Blackburn in these early stages and he does well to link up with Stewart Downing as the hosts put the pressure on.
He plays a one-two on the left flank and a fraught Wigan back line eventually manage to clear their lines.
Blackburn 0-0 Wigan
Wigan, wearing their red away kit, get this one under way and are attacking the goal to the right of the television gantry.
A big night for either side awaits.

As we've outlined, tonight is an important game for both teams - for contrasting reasons.
Blackburn fans - can Tony Mowbray end your eight-year exile from the Premier League and take you back up to the top flight?
And Wigan supporters - can Paul Cook lead you to second-tier survival or are you destined to become a yo-yo team with a third relegation in five years threateningly on the horizon?
