Imran Piperdi: There’s only 1 winner in the Mourinho v Levy affair. It won’t be Jose!

Kieran: Roberto is by far the worst keeper I've ever seen in a West Ham shirt, he has to be dropped. Alvin Martin's son (a boyhood Hammer himself) coming in makes total sense in a fierce London rivalry.

David Martin, 33, arrived from Millwall in the summer and is still waiting for his Hammers debut.

  6. This spell will define our season - Brucepublished at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2019

Aston Villa v Newcastle United (Mon, 20:00 GMT)

    Newcastle United

After facing their manager's former club Villa on Monday, Steve Bruce's men host Manchester City a week on Saturday before a hectic schedule in December.

"I said coming into this run of games, after the international break, this next five or six weeks is probably the defining part of the season," Bruce said.

"The games come thick and fast. I think we've got six or seven games in December, which is ridiculous, so it will define the season and where we're going to be."

  7. Pressure? What pressure?published at 12:54 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2019

West Ham v Tottenham (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    West Ham United

Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini added: "For me, the pressure that I'm feeling at the moment is exactly the same that I was feeling on the first day at West Ham. I try to grow one step more with this club, not just fighting relegation. We try to improve how we're playing.

"Tottenham is a special game, but it is not the last game. It is not enough to beat Tottenham and then be in 14th or 15th position in the table. That's my challenge and now we have to play against Tottenham - a special game, we try to win - but I try to involve all the players and grow them with a winning mentality, with a big club that has 60,000 fans each game."

  8. We've had time to talk with players - Pellegrinipublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2019

West Ham v Tottenham (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham are seven games without a win, including their EFL Cup defeat at Oxford, and go into Saturday's game 16th in the table.

Boss Manuel Pellegrini said: "Of course it was very unexpected because we finished last season very well and were playing well this season also. For different reasons we must find why we didn't continue playing in the same way and winning games. Especially against Palace and Sheffield United at home, there were games we deserved a better result.

"The Premier League this year is very tight - within three points there are eight teams. We must try to recover our performance, and I hope that this will be a good game to try to return to winning our home games.

"I trust a lot in our players because we have shown a lot of times we can do it against big teams. Over the international break we had time to talk about a lot of things with the players. I hope that tomorrow we will see the West Ham we saw at the beginning of the season."

GG: Poch performed miracles for 4 years on a shoestring. Unfortunately he showed no sign of reversing this calendar year's drop-off. leaving DL with no choice. Jose was the only logical choice to move the club upwards. Still feels weird though!

  10. 'He's not my friend, but he's not my enemy'published at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2019

West Ham v Tottenham (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini on Jose Mourinho replacing Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs: "Tottenham have a very good team with some very good players. Being outside of Tottenham we cannot know what is happening.

"Pochettino was a manager who did a lot of good work for a lot of years for Tottenham. Now they have another experienced manager, Jose Mourinho.

"Everyone has his option to play football the way they want, to say what they want to say. He's not my friend, but he's not my enemy. We have different ways of thinking about football. I think he only took charge yesterday, so probably we will see Tottenham playing in a similar way."

  11. 'We must be behind him Roberto'published at 12:41 Greenwich Mean Time 21 November 2019

West Ham v Tottenham (Sat, 12:30 GMT)

    West Ham United

Spanish keeper Roberto is yet to keep a clean sheet since Fabianski's injury and West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini insists the 33-year-old needs support after his performance at Burnley.

"Every player when they are in a bad moment needs the confidence of us behind them," he said.

"Roberto has a lot of experience in a lot of countries. He knows it's not his best performance in the last game, but I think that all of us must be behind him."

    West Ham United

West Ham's poor run has coincided with the loss of first-choice keeper Lukasz Fabianski to injury.

It's now six weeks since the Poland international had surgery on a hip muscle so he is ready to "kick on" with his return to full fitness.
