Bruno Henrique is such a difficult player to play against.

That looks like such a great battle on Liverpool's right-hand side and it's looking like a tough battle for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

And then Flamengo switch gears. Pablo Mari goes long to Bruno Henrique - he's almost quicker than light - and he's in behind Trent Alexander-Arnold again. Luckily Joe Gomez is alert to nip across and avert the danger.

More warning signs for Liverpool.

Liverpool barely had a kick in the last few minutes. But Flamengo's passing is a little pedestrian and in front of an organised Liverpool side.

A sloppy pass from Joe Gomez is intercepted by a Flamengo player - Gerson, I think - who then sets Bruno Henrique off down the left. He beats Trent Alexander-Arnold with some skill and his low cross fizzes across goal.

Flamengo starting to tip the arm wrestle slightly in their favour. Liverpool a touch ragged at the moment...

For the first time really, Liverpool are opened up. A slick one-two sets Bruno Henrique off behind Andrew Robertson but his cut-back is poor and slides in-between Gabriel Barbosa and Everton Ribeiro. Danger, danger.

Flamengo enjoy a little spell of possession. Gabriel Barbosa tries to make something happen down the right but runs into a red-coloured wall.

Jordan Henderson is locked into the sat nav. Another long pass almost finds its destination - Mo Salah - but the ball skids off the turf and into Diego Alves' hands.

This time Liverpool raid down the right as Naby Keita looks to pick out Trent Alexander-Arnold's sprint up the touchline. A little too much beef and it flies out for a goal kick. I mean TAA is quick, but not that quick.

Flamengo are just having a few problems down the right hand side. Liverpool are outnumbering Rafinha and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is taking up some lovely positions on the left.

There's been a slight change of formation for Flamengo as they try to cause Liverpool a few problems and stop the full-backs getting out.

Jurgen Klopp looks very puzzled as he has a chinwag with the fourth official.Think he's wondering why Rafinha - him once of Bayern Munich - has not been pulled up for what looked like a handball.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain charges into the Flamengo box like, well, an ox. But a wonderful tackle - perfectly timed and strong - from Rodrigo Caio stops him from going any further.

People have said Liverpool haven't played too well this season but they've won nearly every game.

The big difference in them between this season and last season is that now they're clinical.

Phew. Breathe. After that frantic start we have a brief stoppage because Sadio Mane has just whacked Willian Arao. Mane's shrug of the shoulders tells us exactly what he thinks.

Flamengo boss Jorge Jesus scowls in the technical area as his side lose possession. You know him, Portuguese fella who used to manage Benfica. Looks like a member of the Stones from Bridges to Babylon era.

All the noise and colour is coming from the Brazilian fans. About 15,000 of them in Doha apparently.

Not all one-way traffic. Flamengo get away down the left through Gabriel Barbosa. The striker drives in-field and, after a few lollipops, he steers into the box. Virgil van Dijk, as he often is, is perfectly placed to clear.

Liverpool have flown out of the blocks quicker than Usain Bolt. This time Trent Alexander-Arnold gallops forward, the Flamengo defence parting far too easily. A low drive flashes past the left-hand post.

Another simple bar over the top from Jordan Henderson, another good chance for Liverpool.

This time it is Mo Salah who is away, the ball falling to Naby Keita. Shoot! That he does. But it is always rising.

Flamengo settle down after that early scare. Neat build up on the left ends with Giorgian de Arrascaeta blasting over the bar. Nowhere near as close as the whoosh from the Flamengo fans suggests.
