You don't get chances like that often at Anfield, especially when you're rock bottom of the table.

Ismaila Sarr just completely fluffed it. Gerard Deulofeu threw his arms up in disbelief behind the goal while the Kop jeered and the ball hadn't even gone out of play yet!

And Watford need to make something count soon, you sense.

A long ball over the top sees Mo Salah tee-up Sadio Mane. Mane knocks the ball past Ben Foster on the edge of the box, but Christian Kabasele is there to recover the situation.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Ismaila Sarr misses the ball completely with the goal at his mercy.

Gerard Deulofeu picks the summer signing out and all he really needs to do is make a good connection. I'm not sure he manages a connection of any form.

Watford have had chances, but their finishing has been non-existent so far.

Mo Salah has now been involved in eight goals in five Premier League games against Watford, scoring seven, while Sadio Mane has four Premier League assists against Watford, more than he does versus any other side in the division.

What can Watford offer in response?

Liverpool's formidable front three combined for that goal and it's where the Reds are always most dangerous - on the break. One hooked ball over the top from Roberto Firmino, a first-time through ball from Sadio Mane and a lovely, curling finish from Mohamed Salah.

Textbook. Normality resumes.

Big chance for Watford!

The Watford midfielder is stood in space on the penalty spot as he receives a cut-back, but completely fluffs his lines.

Good play from Roberto Firmino, who twists and turns past Christian Kabasele to earn a corner.

Trent Alexander-Arnold whips it in, and his initial cross comes straight back to him before his second attempt is gathered comfortably by Ben Foster.

Abdoulaye Doucoure delivers a cross from the left and Virgil van Dijk is forced to boot the ball out for a throw-in for safety.

Watford maintain the pressure, as Adrian Mariappa sends in a cross from the opposite side, but the Reds stand strong.

Nigel Pearson's side are not playing like a team rock-bottom of the Premier League here.

That's a brilliant, clean tackle by Etienne Capoue as Liverpool threatened to intrude on the Watford penalty area.

The Hornets are getting stuck in, and Liverpool aren't quite matching that intensity so far.
