Fulham have been the neater side but the best chance has fallen to Aston Villa before half-time - that was the outstanding chance of the game and a really good save from Rodak. It's been quite tepid from Aston Villa. No goals yet and anything can happen from here but certainly room for improvement from the Premier League team, that's for sure.

Rochdale manager Brian Barry-Murphy speaking to Match of the Day: "I didn’t say a whole lot in the dressing room at half-time. I just apologised for not preparing us better.

"I think we were surprised at the speed of Newcastle's play and they looked intent on putting on a performance.

"We were shell shocked after the first half but there was no embarrassment - I just wanted them to show what I know they could do.

"We had good control in the second half and Ollie had a good chance to score, which he'll be disappointed not to have taken.

"I've never been to Newcastle but I’m lucky to be part of this journey with the club."
