  1. 'West Ham need surprise results'published at 14:51 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

West Ham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
Former Man Utd striker on Final Score

I've been in two relegation fights, with Coventry City. Sometimes it's better to get those big teams to play against because you're not expected to win. Sometimes you can surprise people. That's what West Ham need - a few surprise results.

  2. Postpublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

West Ham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

It has the potential to be a nasty atmosphere for sure. I can't verify any claims of 7,000 West Ham fans on that pre-match protest but I can tell you there's hardly anyone inside the ground at the moment.

  3. 'West Ham don't have players who can handle the pressure'published at 14:48 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

West Ham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Dion Dublin
Former Man Utd striker on Final Score

The pressure the West Ham players are under to win is huge. I'm not sure if they've got enough players who can handle the pressure. Good quality footballers, lots of pretty players, but they need players to pull their socks up.

  4. Work to be done for bothpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    Bournemouth v Chelsea (15:00 GMT)

    Mark Scott
    Match of the Day commentator

Both sides come into this one off the back of heavy defeats.

Bournemouth were understandably aggrieved by their VAR-affected loss at Burnley, while Frank Lampard called Chelsea's battering by Bayern "a reality check" and one that showed there's still a lot of work to be done.

That was the Blues' eighth home defeat of the season, with the Cherries one of those to win at the Bridge this term, which made it three wins in four for them in this fixture.

Although Chelsea were impressive against fellow Champions League chasers Spurs last weekend, they have lost more games against bottom-half clubs than they have to top-half teams this season.

  6. 'You can't feel sorry for yourself'published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    FT: Brighton 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Brighton & Hove Albion

More from Graham Potter: "You can't feel sorry for yourself. Sometimes you need a bit of luck - we didn't get too much of that today. We have to keep working to turn those little margins in our favour.

"We know every game in this league is tough for us. Today there was a lot of effort and a lot of quality. I liked the performance, how we played. Over the course of the game we were quite good."

  7. Newcastle flirting with danger?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    Newcastle v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

On a relegation threat scale, Newcastle have gone from blue to yellow, with a strong chance of it soon turning orange.

A good run from October to December is the reason for their current seven-point 'safety net', with all their numbers down since - particularly in scoring goals.

This might be the game for Steve Bruce to take Joelinton out of the spotlight, especially with Dwight Gayle fit - "a natural goalscorer" in Bruce's own words.

Burnley have gone the other way, both in terms of goalscoring and points gathering, with just one more win needed for the 'magic' 40.

  8. Optimism for Hammers?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

West Ham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Robyn Cowen
Final Score reporter at London Stadium

West Ham's performance at Anfield showed cause for optimism but a positive display and another defeat simply isn't good enough given the situation they find themselves in - only results matter at this point.

The Hammers' next four games after Saturday are against sides competing for European places, so the pressure is on to get maximum points against Southampton.

There is a planned protest ahead of the game, but the fans showed on Monday night it is possible to air your grievances and get behind the team; they're going to have to show the same level of loyalty at the London Stadium on Saturday.

    Final Score at Vitality Stadium

It’s the tale of two defenders at the Vitality Stadium.

Former Chelsea man Nathan Ake is back for Bournemouth after concussion. The team badly feel his absence every time he is missing.

But Fikayo Tomori’s inclusion in Frank Lampard’s side is the really eye-catching piece of team news. He’s not started in the Premier League this year, having played a big role in the early months of the campaign.

  10. 'Palace nicked it'published at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    FT: Brighton 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Dion Dublin
Former Man Utd striker on Final Score

I didn't think anybody was going to score, because nobody looked good enough. Palace kind of nicked it, I've got to say.

  11. 'It's a sore one for us'published at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    FT: Brighton 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton manager Graham Potter: "It's a sore one for us. I thought we, apart from the scoreline, did a lot well in the game, had chances, didn't take them and of course if you don't...

"They didn't do too much to get their goal. We were the better team up to that point. That's football, you have to put the ball in the net. We created stuff, we tried, had shots, had chances, they didn't have too much.

"I feel for the boys. We have to dust ourselves down. There's enough quality there. We showed enough to say that we can move forward, that's what we've got to do.

"It's not a nice feeling when you lose a game. We didn't deserve to lose the game. We just need to focus on the positives, what we've done well."

  12. Statto...published at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    Brighton 0-1 Crystal Palace

Brighton remain the only side without a Premier League win in 2020 (D5 L3), with the Seagulls last enjoying a top-flight victory against Bournemouth on 28 December.

Brighton had 24 shots against Crystal Palace, their best-ever tally in a Premier League game.

Roy Hodgson oversaw his 100th Premier League game in charge of Crystal Palace (W34 D27 L39), the first club he’s reached the milestone within the competition.

Crystal Palace striker Jordan Ayew has equalled his best goal return in a Premier League season – also netting seven goals in 2015/16 with Aston Villa and in 2017/18 with Swansea.

Ayew’s goals this season have won Crystal Palace 12 points. Only Andy Johnson in 2004-05 (15) won more in a single Premier League season for the Eagles.

Christian Benteke has registered two goal involvements in his last three Premier League appearances (one goal, one assist), as many as he managed in his previous 34 in the competition.

  13. 'Palace's defence won them the game'published at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    Brighton 0-1 Crystal Palace

    Karen Carney
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Palace have been unbelievable. They have kept all the play from Brighton in front of them, effortlessly, they have just done so well.

Brighton have had all the possession but have kind of tickled with it, they haven't really hit the ground running and haven't caused any issues. The foundations that we spoke about, training every single day and shape, have paid off.

Crystal Palace have had one or two chances and they've been clinical. Their defence has won them the game today.

  19. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 90+3 mins

    Brighton 0-1 Crystal Palace

What a touch! What a weird goal that would have been! Brighton have a corner which is cleared and Wilf Zaha and Cenk Tosun are in on goal from the halfway line.

Tosun must have been in his own half as he looked well offside, the Turkish international goes around the keeper but takes a 20-yard touch, it's going out but Zaha catches up with it and slams it against the post from a horrible angle.

    Comedy stuff.
