    Brighton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Every time I see Brighton they put in a similar display - it's nearly there isn't it? They move the ball well at times, look for good angles but just lack that killer touch around the area.

Aaron Mooy shoots wide at the end of this move as Glenn Murray warms up below.

How is Maupay still being allowed to play on. Time for Murray! Maupay is making too many mistakes - can't shoot, can't pass and has made the best defensive block of the game...against his own team!

And now a chance at the other end! Christian Benteke gets up to win a header from a corner but he can only squirm it wide.

Martin Montoya goes into the book for a foul on Wilfried Zaha. Not a great deal in that one.

Qaaltagh: Zaha should move to Italy or Spain. Chances are he wouldn't get hacked down every time he has the ball like in England. Both him and Sterling seem to be widely-hated in the UK for similar reasons - tricky, skilful & deft players who get knocked about. Really weird.

  6. Chance!published at 56 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Crystal Palace

What a chance! Brighton get a spot of luck as Aaron Mooy wins a tackle and the ball loops over the head of Gary Cahill and plays in Neal Maupay.

He's in on goal, middles a shot with great power but can only whack it straight at Vicente Guaita. Brighton have had six shots on target which is pretty decent for a Premier League side. But none of them have really looked like going in.

That's more like it! Lovely effort from Leandro Trossard, who shapes in a curler from the left-hand side of the box, tries to bring it back in but it's always wide of the target.

  8. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Crystal Palace

The game is still crying out for some quality.

  9. CLOSE!published at 48 mins

    Brighton 0-0 Crystal Palace

Almost bang on cue - Aaron Mooy looks for Neal Maupay in behind but Scott Dann just about does enough to clear it away.

And then a great chance from the corner! Lewis Dunk with a thumping header - hits Maupay in the face.

    That was going in!

  10. 'There are opportunities for Brighton to be really dangerous today'published at 13:34 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

    Brighton 0-0 Crystal Palace

    Karen Carney
Former England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Brighton play with the wing backs really well and they play though the middle really well.

The only thing they don't do is challenge and put the ball in and behind enough. There isn't much in that Palace back line so as soon as they win it and counter attack and hit the front three there are opportunities for them to be really dangerous today.

Looks like Riedewald is going to play in midfield for now at least. Away we go!

  12. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 13:32 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

Palace make a half-time change as Jairo Riedewald replaces James McCarthy. Change of shape?

I think Ezequiel Schelotto was just trying to wind up Zaha, they know he's Palace's key man and he knows that if he can get in his head it will stop him doing what he usually does.

He's got to do what he's got to do as a sub to put a player off, he's doing his job isn't he and it's working. Zaha is looking very frustrated coming to the bench saying 'can I move here can I do that?'

It's just not happening for him at the moment but that's a credit to Brighton's back line.

West Ham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Alex Scott
    Ex-England international on Football Focus

Every game is a big game for West Ham if they are going to survive. Defensively, they've not had a centre-back pairing that's really been stable, so against Ings and Long that's definitely where they'll have to be on their game.

  16. 'Moyes will handle the pressure'published at 13:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

West Ham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Tony Pulis
Former Bournemouth and Stoke manager on Football Focus

There's still a lot of football to be played, but what West Ham will want more than anything else is to kick start their season. I fancy them today. In David Moyes they've got a very experienced manager who will handle the pressure, and they've certainly got the armour to get themselves out of trouble.

They need to get results now. If they can get a win today and then get another to back it up then the confidence will come back in. Remember Southampton were in a similar position, got two or three wins, and went on that extraordinary run - so it can be done.

Brighton defender Ezequiel Schelotto was booked in that first half - despite not playing. What does that mean for fantasy football?

    A big fat -1 that's what.

  18. West Ham ready to rise to the occasion?published at 13:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 February 2020

West Ham v Southampton (15:00 GMT)

    Mark LawrensonImage source, BBC Sport

Southampton's away form has been very good this season but I just think this is such a huge game for West Ham that they will know they have to win.

The Hammers were very competitive and combative against Liverpool on Monday night, and looked better defensively - apart from Lukasz Fabianski's mistakes.

They were at Anfield and playing against the runaway leaders, though, so no-one was expecting them to get anything. Things will be very different on Saturday.

    Prediction: 2-0
