Both teams had some big names missing for the return at Hampden in October and an early goal from Ryan Fraser was enough, although the second-half was pretty much a siege on David Marshall’s penalty box.

Steve Clarke has 11 wins from his 22 games in charge, with four of his six defeats coming in the first five internationals. Before we get too carried away, Scotland have beaten just one side ranked above them in that time. But, hey, that was the Czech Republic – twice!

Factor in a 1-0 friendly victory in Prague in March 2016 and Scotland have won their last three matches against the Czech Republic and are unbeaten in four. Now we are officially carried away!

Scotland manager Steve Clarke is hopeful Kieran Tierney will be fit for Friday's match against England, as the Arsenal defender sits out today's clash through injury.

"He's had a niggle during the week," he tells BBC Sport. "He's not ready for this one, but hopefully the next one."

On selecting Lyndon Dykes and Ryan Christie ahead of Che Adams up front, Clarke said: "Lyndon was a very, very influential player against the Czech Republic in September, him and Ryan were excellent against Serbia and deserve the chance to play here again."

Italy showed the way to success against the Czechs with a 4-0 win in their recent warm-up friendly.

The secret is to press them high and not let them build from the back, as they did in their next game - a 3-1 win over Albania.

Sparta Prague's Ondrej Celustka looked particularly vulnerable on the right of their central defence and Viktoria Plzen's Jakub Brabec didn't look too clever either.

One of Scottish football's most famous voices says Scotland must avoid the hype, but he is confident we'll win!

Archie Macpherson tells Radio Scotland's Lunchtime Live this is a "huge" occasion.

"I hope the Scotland team haven't been listening too much to the build-up," he warns.

However the legendary commentator says: "I think Scotland will win today despite what I am saying about going over the top."

Thick clouds are obscuring the national stadium in Glasgow as it finally becomes Scotland's moment to shine. We all hope.

As we know, fans have been in here for the last two hours in what feels like a completely different stadium. The Wi-Fi works for a start. Well, sort of.

A loud roar has just boomed out from the sloped stands here as Scotland's three keepers ambled on to the park, this time in their training gear and not the fancy get up provided to them by Robert Snodgrass and his new fashion label.

There may be only 12,000 supporters in here today, but the place will be rocking.

Czech head coach Jaroslav Silhavy fields the same starting line-up from Tuesday's 3-1 win over Albania in their final pre-tournament friendly.

Sevilla's Tomas Vaclik retains his place in goal with Werder Bremen's Jiri Pavlenka having been ruled out of the competition after picking up a back injury in their 4-0 defeat by Italy a few days earlier.

Augsburg's Tomas Koubek, who joined the squad on Tuesday as a replacement, is on the bench along with Ales Mandous of Sigma Olomouc.
