Marek Hamsik has for a long time been the world class player in the Slovakia squad. He's really important for the team, he's the best goalscorer in Slovakia's history. Slovakia has had a problem with the centre forward position, so Hamsik has been even more important.

Robert Lewandowski enters the fray today, but will he finish top scorer at Euro 2020? It will be tough because despite his sensational form at club and country level generally he has had a bit of a drought at tournaments.

He's scored only one goal in his past 10 games in major competitions - against Portugal in the Euro 2016 quarter-finals.

Who are you fancying for Euro 2020 top scorer? Let us know via #bbcfootball or text in 81111 (UK only - texts will be charged at your standard message rate)

Slovakia will certainly be no slouches as they look to replicate their achievement at Euro 2016 by getting out of their group.

At the tournament five years ago, no player was involved in more goals (two - one goal, one assist), had more shots (10) or made more successful passes (181) for Slovakia than midfielder Marek Hamsik.

  9. Lewandowski to lift Poland?published at 16:31 British Summer Time 14 June 2021

    Poland v Slovakia (17:00 BST)

Poland's form heading into Euro 2020 hasn't exactly been sparkling. Of the five games they have played this year they have won only one - against Andorra.

It is hardly the sort of run of results that will have fans confident in their side's prospects of doing well, but while you've got this man in your ranks...

    ... then you've always got a chance.
