    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

Roland Sallai is then onto a loose ball just outside the Portugal box and drives a first-time effort at goal, but straight at Rui Patricio.

Better from Hungary though, they are getting forward a bit more than they did in the first half.

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

A stray hand from Ruben Dias catches Roland Sallai in the face. The Hungary fans boo and whistle as they call for Dias, who is on a yellow, to be sent off but nothing doing.

  4. 'How long can Hungary hold up?'published at 18:08 British Summer Time 15 June 2021

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

They're getting deeper and deeper, the question is can they hold up playing like this.

They struggled to get up in the first half, now they're ten yards deeper defensively in this second half and it's just wave after wave of attack from Portugal.

  5. Postpublished at 50 mins

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

A good spell of possession for Hungary - their best of the game - before Ádám Szalai spots the Portugal defence opening up and he takes it as an invitation to shoot. Decent power but straight down Rui Patricio's throat.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 48 mins

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

Portugal win an early corner which Bruno Fernandes sends into the box. Pepe gets up well and directs a downward header towards goal but Péter Gulácsi gets across well to punch away.

Wayne Ellis: Hmm, think I may have jinxed this one...

Mark Willis: Surely we won't get two back to back 0-0 matches? Lots of parallels with yesterday's Spain game. Hoping for some goals in the second half.

  9. 'Can Hungary keep this up?'published at 18:00 British Summer Time 15 June 2021

    HT: Hungary 0-0 Portugal

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Hungary have been inspired by the crowd and by the noise in the stadium. Let's get it right, Hungary are rough and ready, I mean they aren't a great technical team. They hoof the ball up the pitch for their big centre forward, and try to get Sallai running off it.

It's been wave after wave of Portuguese attacks, and in the final third Portugal haven't done enough.

Hungary needed half time. The issue for them is, can they keep up this work rate and intensity in the second half? I'm not so sure they can.

  10. Messi's stunner and Maradona tributepublished at 17:56 British Summer Time 15 June 2021

    Copa America

Cristiano Ronaldo is waiting for his first goal of the Euros but over in South America, Lionel Messi scored as Argentina began their Copa America campaign with a 1-1 draw with Chile.

There was also a stunning tribute to Diego Maradona before kick off. If you've somehow not seen it yet, check it out below.

Richard: If you could put money on anyone in world football to score that, it would be Cristiano Ronaldo. Shocker.

Mike Hall: That's what happens when you leave the ball for Ronaldo to shoot! Jota was right.

  13. 'Portugal should be in front'published at 17:49 British Summer Time 15 June 2021

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

What a chance for Ronaldo. Portugal should be in front.

I can't remember many times in his career when he's missed such an easy opportunity to his standards. He normally gobbles those chances up.

The ball did bounce in front of him, but nonetheless a player of his quality, you'd expect the net to bulge.

  15. CLOSE!published at 44 mins

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

Cristiano Ronaldo has his head in his hands as he fails to put away a glorious chance!

The forward volleys over from four yards out. A slight flick from Diogo Jota as the ball came through may have put him off, but you'd back Ronaldo to finish that most times.

  16. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

Bruno Fernandes has only had 16 touches so far - the lowest from any Portugal outfield player. Next on the list is Cristiano Ronaldo with 17.

Both players have had a fair claim to be a bit frustrated with Diogo Jota not spotting them for easier chances than the Liverpool striker took.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 41 mins

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

Good chance for Portugal as the ball is cut back into the box for Diogo Jota, who stops the ball with one touch, spins and fires at goal with his second touch but Péter Gulácsi reacts well to save.

Good from Jota, but if he let it go Bruno Fernandes was in a far better position to slam home.

  18. Postpublished at 39 mins

Adam Szalai's flicked header straight at Rui Patricio was Hungary's first effort - either on or off target - and came after 36 minutes.

  19. YELLOW CARDpublished at 38 mins

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

Almost 40 minutes on the clock and we have the first yellow card of the game as Rúben Dias is penalised for catching Andras Schafer.

The referee has let a few go before then. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a red card or two before this game is out.

  20. CLOSE!published at 36 mins

    Hungary 0-0 Portugal

... the ball is sent into the box and Ádám Szalai is there to flick a header at goal but straight at Rui Patricio.
