Robin Gosens has caught Benjamin Pavard. He knew he was not going to get there so he just jumped trying to get anything he could on the ball.

Pavard went down very heavily. He surely won't carry on.

While Benjamin Pavard receives the magic sponge from the physio, any excuse to pull this one out again.

Germany upping the ante, Joshua Kimmich clips a cross towards Robin Gosen's at the back post but he bundles over Benjamin Pavard.

The French full-back is down and needs treatment.

Germany are going for it, pushing men forward. Bodes well for an exciting second half.

Beware the speedy Kylian Mbappe on the break though.

    A matter of inches.

Thomas Muller's shot is blocked and it seems Kai Havertz can skip in to convert, but the giant Presnel Kimpembe is in the right place again, sticking out a leg to make the interception.

    A real class act.

I think we need to see more of Joshua Kimmich and Robin Gosens down the wings for Germany.

Hugo Lloris - like Paul Pogba - better for country than club?

Just looks so much more confident.

He really did not catch it. The keeper was beaten, but his timing was all wrong. Germany can't not keep taking these chances.

Everyone raving about Pogba looking good, but it's because he's playing next to Kante. The bloke made Danny Drinkwater look like a world beater for a season...

    Ossie

The only reason Pogba looks any good tonight is because he has the world's best midfielder mopping up behind him. It's why he will never be world class as he always needs someone else to allow him to flourish. The best do it on their own.

End-to-end stuff now and Germany close to the equaliser as Serge Gnabry, on home turf, scuffs a side-footed volley onto the roof of the net from 12 yards out.

"You have to take those chances," says Martin Keown.

    Quite right.

I think Adrien Rabiot would have been offside. He never looked comfortable on his left foot but it was a great ball from Kylian Mbappe.

France in for the second, Adrien Rabiot in acres of space with a run into the box.

The Juve midfielder tries to catch out Manuel Neuer but smacks the outside of the near post.

A pullback to the waiting Antoine Griezmann might have been the better option.

France have dealt with all the crosses into their box so far, Presnel Kimpembe is a real presence at the back alongside Raphael Varane.

I just DON'T see a weakness in this French team.

The pundits on channel three have been having a look at the Rudiger-Pogba incident.

Patrick Vieira: "When you see Pogba's reaction, it felt like a bite. I don't see what Rudiger was doing there."

Roy Keane: "It was more of a nibble than a bite."

Germany did okay in the first half. They had the majority of the possession.

They don't need to do that much different, just be a little more potent.

Kylian Mbappe causing havoc again, the Germany defenders are struggling to deal with the rapid pace.

The Frenchman makes another dart into the box but Mats Hummels just about manages to keep up.

N'Golo Kante was the busiest France player in the first half - he was everywhere. He had more touches of the ball (41) and played more passes (29) than any other player.

More of the same in the second half?
