Arm in an unnatural position; defender gaining an advantage from using his arms to make his body unnaturally big. Absolute stonewall, cut and dry, easy as you like penalty. How has the ref not given it, standing five yards away? And then how has VAR not given it, with multiple screens and angles? Unfathomable.

  6. 'Proper cup tie'published at 20:44 Greenwich Mean Time 28 January 2020

Aston Villa 1-0 Leicester (2-1 agg)

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Tottenham and England winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sometimes cup ties can be a little bit nervy but this has been a proper cup tie.

Villa couldn't cope with Leicester but all of a sudden they scored and Leicester lost their belief and rhythm a little bit.

It's a matter of when will Jamie Vardy come on for Leicester. The goalkeeper has been top drawer.

As a Republic of Ireland fan, I've got absolutely nothing to say on that topic.

Aston Villa 1-0 Leicester (2-1 agg)

    Alan Hutton
Former Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

That half absolutely flew by, it's been a great game to watch.

Orjan Nyland was so impressive, he's pulled off some wonderful saves and has kept Villa in it.

In the first 10-15 minutes when it was all Leicester, Villa were allowing them to get on the ball and dictate. After the goal, their confidence grew and they have grown into this game.

As things stand in the Championship, Nottingham Forest would only be one point behind second-placed Leeds.

Villa striker Mbwana Samatta is offside as he tries to control Frederic Guilbert's pass over the top. That'll help eat up some time before the break.

How did Leicester not get a penalty there! Absolute blatant, arm in the air, away from the body. What's the point of VAR if it doesn't give that?

    Dave, Manchester.

Aston Villa 1-0 Leicester (2-1 agg)

Jack Grealish and Matt Targett are like some kind of dream team down the left for Aston Villa. Grealish finds Targett and his cross is towards Mbwana Samatta, who can't make proper contact to get a shot in.
