Aston Villa's recent acquisition Pepe Reina is watching from the stands and how he must be admiring this virtuoso display from goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.

He was been unbelievable - there were gasps then a roar around Villa Park when his save from Youri Tielemans was shown on the big screens.

Actually there was a second handball incident that VAR was checking. Marvelous Nakamba had his arm up when he was blocking another James Maddison shot. I've seen them given.

Aston Villa are managing the game very well. They have taken control of the midfield.

The goal sparked life into Villa and all the second balls now are being picked up by Villa.

James Maddison then blasts a shot into the torso of a Villa defender and screams for a penalty. No chance.

Aston Villa 1-0 Leicester (2-1 agg)

So, so close to a Leicester equaliser. Excellent play by Youri Tielemans, with some nice footwork and then a shot which looks destined for the top corner but Orjan Nyland tips it onto the crossbar.

Villa are looking good on the counter so far, Jonny Evans does well to head away a right-wing cross.

Their only shot on Targett remains the goal.

Brendan Rodgers gets a notebook out of his pocket, makes a note, and puts it back in his pocket. Doesn't he have a notes app on his phone?

James Maddison picks up the ball in midfield and charges at Villa's defence before having his umpeenth shot of the game. This one is well wide though.

More Jack Grealish magic, this time he plays a wonderful defence-spliutting pass to Frederic Guilbert, but the right-back has strayed offside.

    The flag goes up.

Guilbert crosses for Mbwana Samatta, who puts the ball into the back of the net, but nobody thought that was going to stand.

Jack Grealish is running this show for Villa, when they have the ball anyway, and wins another free-kick from Wilfried Ndidi.

Aston Villa have weathered the storm here.

Leicester looked in command at the start but since Villa got the first goal Leicester have struggled to put three passes together.

I haven't seen much from Aston Villa striker Mbwana Samatta yet. Can't remember him touching the ball particularly. Not that Villa will mind.

Good defending by Villa defender Tyrone Mings to stop an aerial pass into Kelechi Iheanacho. I wonder at what stage we'll see Jamie Vardy.

As a Villa fan. Is it wrong to not want them to win? I don't fancy another thrashing at the hands of City, especially at Wembley.

It's been all Leicester City but a lovely touch from Jack Grealish set up the chance for Matt Targett - and Villa Park explodes with joy.

    Game very much on.
