I thought the game had the intensity we wanted especially the first 45 minutes. The atmosphere was electric and the players competed well. The second half went a bit flat, then in the last 15 minutes it was down to a gamble, Cardiff pushed for it, but I think Swansea are happy.

That was no derby classic, particularly in the second half which fizzled out a little bit, but both sides are given a warm ovation by their respective fans at full time.

That says much about the story of the contest, in which both sides were full of commitment if a little short on quality at times.

Both sides take the point and move on - and the wait for one club to do the south Wales derby double goes on.

So after 108 years, still no side has managed to complete the south Wales derby double.

Cardiff and Swansea both came close to a winner - Bersant Celina hitting the post for the Swans in the first half and Bluebirds substitute Callum Paterson hitting the crossbar in the second.

But neither side could find a way through in a match full of endeavour and passion but lacking cutting edge.

Swansea climb back up to seventh spot in the Championship, level on points with the play-off places.

Cardiff, meanwhile, are up to 12th, four points adrift of their old rivals.

The answer is no.

That's it. The south Wales derby finishes goalless.

Swansea might have the final chance to win this. They have a throw-in deep into the Cardiff half. Can they do anything with it?

Cardiff's Josh Murphy stands over a free-kick about 45 yards out but his cross is cleared.

We're into added time now. We'll have three minutes.

Now it's a corner for Swansea, but it's a poor one from Bersant Celina, failing to beat Lee Tomlin at the near post.

Cardiff fans get behind their team with cries of "barmy army" as their side are awarded a corner.

Josh Murphy swings it in but Sean Morrison's header bounces wide.

Time running out for both sides.

Lee Tomlin, one of Cardiff's best players this season, has a go from 25 yards but his shot swerves harmlessly wide.

Down to the last five minutes now.

It's hard to see where that winning goal is going to come from at the moment.

Andre Ayew has his first real chance of the match, but the Swansea forward curls his shot from the edge of the penalty area right into the hands of Cardiff keeper Alex Smithies.

We're into the final 10 minutes now.

Can anyone produce a moment of inspiration?

Or will this game come down to a mistake?

It promises to be a nervy old ending to the south Wales derby.

It was a great ball, it's just been hung up, it beats the defenders, ideal for a centre forward, but Paterson can't get enough height to get that back down, just couldn't get above it and that's why it's hit the bar.

Close! Very close!

Cardiff's two substitutes combine, and almost to devastating effect.

Josh Murphy runs down the left wing and hangs an inviting cross towards the back post, where Callum Paterson connects firmly with a header but it hits the crossbar and bounces to safety.

Tension continues to reign here, with both sides desperate to avoid the sort of error which could cost them this game.

The second half has been scrappier than the first up until now, with defences on top for the most part.

Neil Harris has made two changes to try to find a breakthrough, with Robert Glatzel somewhat surprisingly sacrificed.

Could one of the substitutes, Callum Paterson and Josh Murphy, provide the moment of quality this game needs?

After Matt Grimes' free-kick for Swansea is cleared, Lee Tomlin breaks for Cardiff and scampers into the opposition half.

It ultimately comes to nothing but the Bluebirds playmaker is growing more influential in this match.

It's an intent from Cardiff City, I think Robert Glatzel has been Cardiff's best player. He must be sitting there now thinking "does this football club trust me?" It's disappointing for him, I'm thinking of what you're going to lose from him now with Patterson coming on.
