Some derby pushing and shoving has raised the tension on the pitch - and in the stands.

The argument started after Ben Cabango's heavy challenge on Robert Glatzel, with the Cardiff crowd then getting on the Swansea defender's back.

Ironically, of course, Cabango was born and raised in Cardiff.

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Rhian Brewster wins a free-kick for Swansea on the right-hand side of the Cardiff penalty area, and Matt Grimes whips in what could have been a shot or a cross which curls just wide of the far post.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 34 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

A first proper scrap of the match!

Cardiff striker Robert Glatzel is aggrieved after what he feels was an elbow to his head from Swansea centre-back Ben Cabango.

The two players square up, and then a whole host of other players pile in too.

Ultimately, it's just a bit of pushing and shoving but it got the crowd going.

End result: a yellow card each for Cabango and Glatzel.

  4. YELLOW CARDpublished at 30 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

A second yellow card of the match, and a first for Cardiff.

Junior Hoilett goes sliding in on Swansea right-back Connor Roberts, who goes down in a heap.

    Hoilett into the book.

  5. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 29 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

    Big chance for Swansea!

George Byers leads a counter-attack for the visitors, carrying the ball into the Cardiff half and passing to Bersant Celina.

Celina cuts inside from the left side of the penalty area and clips a fine curling shot towards the far bottom corner, but it comes back off the post.

Glatzel's movement is causing problems, he's getting into good positions and testing the concentration of the centre-halves.

  7. Postpublished at 25 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Robert Glatzel won't want to see that again.

The Cardiff striker is presented with a decent chance as Swansea's Ben Cabango slides in and misses the ball, allowing Glatzel to spin him and get into the penalty area.

But although he has time to take another touch, the big German is rash and rather snatches at his shot, pulling it well wide of the goal.

  8. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Wayne Routledge has another half-chance for Swansea, picking up a smart pass from George Byers and shooting from the edge of the area - but it deflects wide.

Bersant Celina then whips in a dangerous cross which is only a yard or so away from the back post.

It's been a fast, open start to the game and, save for those sightings of goal for Swansea just now, Cardiff have had the better of the game so far.

Swansea are under a bit of pressure here, they might just have to ride that a little bit after the first 20 minutes.

  10. Cardiff asking early questionspublished at 12:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Swansea are trying to get their possession game going here, but it is Cardiff who have had the better of the opening exchanges.

Neil Harris' team are sending the ball forward early and they have already put a number of dangerous balls into the visitors' penalty area.

Steve Cooper's youthful centre-backs have stood firm so far but Swansea need to get hold of the ball to ease the pressure.

Harris will be the happier of the two bosses at this point.

  11. Postpublished at 18 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Swansea are really under the pump now.

Cardiff's Lee Tomlin puts in a dangerous low cross, and Swansea centre-back Ben Cabango - born and bred in Cardiff - slides in to clear the ball for a corner.

    Cardiff City Stadium is bouncing.

  12. Close!published at 16 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Two chances in quick succession for Cardiff.

Marlon Pack swings in a free-kick, Robert Glatzel heads the ball down and Swansea keeper Freddie Woodman turns it around the post for a corner.

Then, after the corner is cleared, Woodman is called into action again to save Curtis Nelson's header.

  14. Celina lucky?published at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Luckily for Swansea playmaker Bersant Celina, there's no VAR at Championship games.

If there had been, he might have been in a spot of bother, with replays showing he had a little kick at Sean Morrison after the Cardiff captain had dispossessed him with a sliding tackle.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 10 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Welcome to the south Wales derby, Rhian Brewster!

Swansea's debutant, on loan from Liverpool, lunges in and catches Lee Tomlin and is booked 10 minutes into his first appearance.

  16. Chance!published at 8 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Swansea's Connor Roberts launches a throw into the Cardiff box, and it's poorly defended, with the Bluebirds centre-back Curtis Nelson only helping the ball on to Wayne Routledge at the back post.

Luckily for Nelson, the veteran Swans winger lifts his effort over the bar. He was in a decent position there.

  19. Chance!published at 3 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

Cardiff have the first proper chance of the match, as captain Sean Morrison floats a cross into the box for Robert Glatzel, who's stretching a little as he heads wide.

That brings a big roar of approval from the home fans. They're seriously fired up.

  20. A decent start for Cardiffpublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January 2020

    Cardiff 0-0 Swansea

    Jason Perry
Former Cardiff player on BBC Radio Wales

Glatzel is an intelligent player, you have to play to his strengths, he had a lot of work to do, he's made contact with the header but not got enough on it. A good start from Cardiff here.
