Japan do need to cut out the defensive errors but they are out of season. I am sure that sharpness will return before the Olympics, but this is a great tournament to test themselves.
England 1-0 Japan
All Japan have been able to muster today has been long range efforts. Emi Nakajima has another go but it's easy peasy for Ellie Roebuck.
We're into three minutes of added time .

The Don: Ellen White is definitely my favourite England striker of all time.
Gaz: Cometh the hour, cometh the woman.
Maria Jose Castillo: White!! Of course she’s the one to save this.
England 1-0 Japan
England look happy to just keep the ball now. They should see this home.
England 1-0 Japan
Now England just have a few minutes to hold on for the win.
Or could they even push for another? White is leading another attack.
England 1-0 Japan
That was a really good finish from Ellen White. Clinical.

Finally! England needed that. Ellen White, coming on off the bench, with the composed touch after Toni Duggan had won the ball back high up. Duggan has looked sharp since coming on.

Great pressing initially from Leah Williamson then Toni Duggan wins the ball back, plays a great ball and what a finish. The Japan goalkeeper thinks Ellen White is going one way but she opens her body up and plays it the other side of her.
Ellen White
Ellen White with what could be the winner! It's like last summer all over again with White wheeling away with her trademark celebration after a tidy finish.
England are given a big helping hand with Hina Sugita and Shiori Miyake making a mess of playing out from the back but Toni Duggan put in a great cross and White slotted home on the half-volley.
Relief.
England 0-0 Japan
Ellen White, England's top scorer at the World Cup last summer, gets into the action for the first time with some good movement that almost gets her on the end of Jordan Nobbs' cross.
England have 10 minutes to find a goal or it's going to be another winless game for Phil Neville's side.

Andrew Jazzie: Hate to say it but this is truly terrible. We have gone backwards over the last year or so.
England 0-0 Japan
England hadn't done an awful lot in the second half in fairness. The Lionesses haven't created much since the break as a whole.

Vanessa A Foxx: It feels like England has the better team but Japan is giving them a run for their money.
Sean: I love the Lionesses but I hope we lose. Taking Beth England off for Ellen White is the right way of going about it. Phil Neville needs to go.
England 0-0 Japan
There were some worried faces on the England bench and the physios rushed straight on but it looks like Parris is going to be OK. She's going to try to run it off.

I just heard the scream from Nikita Parris - never nice to hear. The Japanese player just seemed to land on her ankle. An awkward fall but thankfully she is getting up.
England 0-0 Japan
Oh this didn't sound good. Nikita Parris screams in pain after a nasty collision.
England 0-0 Japan
Still we wait for an opener... Jordan Nobbs has a pop with a half-volley from the edge of the box but it sails way over.

Beth England might have missed a couple of chances but she linked the play well and her movement and runs were good. Beth is one of her own biggest critics, though, so I know she will be looking at those missed chances and will want to improve.
