England are still looking for that breakthrough. Jordan Nobbs was calling for Bethany England to make a run when she played that swinging ball into the box. The young players have had sparks of excitement today but ultimately have failed to take their chances. This is a much more experience team on the pitch now so can they get the much-needed goal?

Two more changes for England. Ellen White comes on up top for Bethany England and in midfield Georgia Stanway is replaced by Lucy Staniforth.

They have indeed. England now need to turn that added impetus into goals. It looks like more subs are coming for the Lionesses.

cattcattcatt: England look so much more alive with Duggan and Parris on, they've been missing them for the first hour's play.

I've been very impressed by Sakiko Ikeda in the Japan goal today. A few of good saves (see below) and now she rushes off her line to meet a long ball before calmly heading a pass to a team-mate.

Brilliant to bring that quality of player on. Straight away Nikita Parris wants to get on the ball and run at defenders.

It's a more experienced looking England now. Nikita Parris is into the action straight away, winning a free-kick in a dangerous position. The set-piece fails to bring anything.

There's your answer! Leah Williamson replaces Keira Walsh in midfield for England. She has played there for Arsenal on occasions in the WSL so that's not unknown territory and Williamson is very comfortable on the ball. Chloe Kelly and Lauren Hemp have looked very bright - Hemp in particualr has been hugely impressive again.

Here are those England changes and there are three of them. Keira Walsh is replaced by Leah Williamson, Toni Duggan is on for Lauren Hemp and Chloe Kelly's full debut is also over. Nikita Parris replaces her.

Encouraging from England but still no goal. After initially working the corner short, Chloe Kelly crosses into the six yard box where Steph Houghton gets a diving header on target but it's easily caught.

England still need to do more.

It looks like Leah Williamson is going to come on for England. She said she wasn't happy with her performance against the USA, where she was played out of position at right-back. Where will she be coming on to play today? Toni Duggan is also ready to come on.

Steph Houghton reads it well and manages to clear, but when Japan move the ball like that they are so good to watch. They can be off the cuff Japan - I think they are told to express themselves and make things happen.

Apart from long-range efforts, Japan haven't created a lot. This is better - a clever reverse pass inside the box - but Steph Houghton steps across to deal with it.

Chloe Kelly has seen plenty of the ball in this second half. She is trying to make something happen down the right.

The 22-year-old Everton striker, making her full debut today, then perhaps gets a little eager. She gets the first yellow card of the game for a tackle from behind.

Not a lot is the answer. Steph Houghton tries a improvised flick with her back to goal but can't get enough power to cause any sort of trouble for the Japanese defence.

Bethany England wins a corner for England. What can they muster from this?
