Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was adamant Gareth Bale would remain at the Bernabeu beyond the current transfer window when answering questions at his press conference this morning, external, ahead of Saturday's derby at home to Atletico.

We've just had a little flurry of deals from outside the Premier League, so let's wrap those up...

Not necessarily straight in. I think Soares would have to fight Hector Bellerin, but he is a decent signing the Portuguese international. Mari has more of a chance because the centre of defence does look more vulnerable with David Luiz and Sokratis.
It may not be the transfer saga everyone was hoping for on deadline day, but it might be the only one we've got...

Chelsea would have liked to get a striker in. They may well still do that. They have been linked with Dries Mertens from Napoli. And that will play into whether Olivier Giroud leaves for Spurs. They would have liked to do more but on the other hand don't want to bring someone in who is no better than what they have got.

The regulations haven't affected them yet but they are close so they do need to get rid of quite a lot of players before they can spend quite as big as Carlo Ancelotti would like. Whether that means selling a big player in the summer like Richarlison we will see. Lots and lots of the shadow squad - like a Morgan Schneiderlin, Oumar Niasse or Cuco Martina maybe - will need to go to trim the wage bill and give them a chance of reinvesting.

Not today, but maybe in the future. The big question around Morelos is his temperament. We all know what he is like as a player at Rangers - a very good goalcscorer, very skilful. But he has a very short fuse. It would be a gamble and somebody might in the future, but not today.

At the moment it doesn't look like it. The one person they are interested in is Joshua King from Bournemouth. They have registered their interest but Bournemouth want to keep him. It all could depend on if Bournemouth can bring someone in but the short answer at this stage is no.
