  2. 'We deserved the win' - Gerrardpublished at 22:57

    FT: Rangers 2-1 Hibernian

Steven Gerrard tells Rangers TV: "It's a big win for us and I'm delighted with the second half performance.

"We scored [the equaliser] at a really good time before the break but I thought that that was the least we deserved.

"The first half performance was a little bit hit-and-miss.

Steven Gerrard expressed delight at seeing Rangers come from behind to beat Hibernian

"We were trying some good things and I could see some good things but we were also giving possession away by going too long too early.

"Second half, I demanded a bit more and the players were outstanding. Hagi's match-winning performance, he will deserve all the headlines but I thought his general play was outstanding in the second half.

"He was coming to terms with the league and what it's about in the first half. But what a performance on your full home debut.

"And the finish was outstanding. But we were a lot better across the board in the second half and we deserved the win in the end."

  3. 'We have 13 huge games to go'published at 22:50

    FT Ross County 2-0 Livingston

Ross County co-manager Steven Ferguson: "Stuart [Kettlewell] and I have great admiration for Livingston and they are on a fantastic run.

"We were under no illusions how difficult it was going to be tonight. It's difficult in this league but tonight the players were well up for it.

"We had to fight exceptionally hard for that. Livingston are a good side.

"We had four very difficult games in 10 games, three of them away from home. It was nice to finish those four games with a victory. We have 13 huge games to go.

"Billy's a goalscorer. He needs to be given service that he can threaten the goal with. He was well backed by the rest of his team tonight. We know what he brings to the team."

  4. 'The boys were magnificent' - McGregorpublished at 22:45

    FT: Motherwell 0-4 Celtic

Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor tells BBC Sportsound: "The second half was excellent and the boys did exactly as the gaffer asked in terms of the tempo and creating chances.

"Obviously, we managed to put them away as well which is good. We need to be ruthless when we get the chances.

"It [McGregor's goal] was nice. I got on the edge of the box and with James [Forrest] with the cutback.. with the first touch it sat up perfectly for me to hit it.

"You just try to keep it on target and, thankfully, it goes in. Pleasing for me, personally, but again it's about the team.

"The boys were absolutely magnificent in the second half."

  5. 'I felt like booing, myself ' - McInnespublished at 22:35

    FT: Aberdeen 0-1 St Johnstone

A woeful 2020 and another defeat meant Aberdeen were booed off tonight, but manager Derek McInnes has no complaints.

"I feel like booing, myself tonight," he tells BBC Scotland. "It wasn't what I expect from my team. I just want more courage and conviction in the performance.

"We're here to support the players but they do need to grasp that they need to show more of themselves. I totally understand fans not being happy with that. They're here to see the team win.

"Hopefully we can get that on Saturday [against Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup] and get our season moving again."

  6. 'It was like basketball' - Beuzelinpublished at 22:26

FT: St Mirren 1-1 Hamilton Accies

Hamilton Accies assistant manager Guillaume Beuzelin was overseeing proceedings in the dug-out with boss Brian Rice serving a touchline ban.

The Frenchman watched his team ship a 1-0 lead in Paisley and miss a late penalty, but is still relatively happy with a point that moves them off the foot of the table.

He tells BBC Radio Scotland: "If you asked me at half-time, I would have been disappointed to take a point, but in the end St Mirren put a lot of pressure on us. We needed to be more ruthless and get a second goal when we were on top.

"We didn’t do enough second-half to control the game. It was like a basketball game, up and down, and our subs didn’t do a good enough job. The penalty could have been a decider but 1-1 is maybe a fair result."

  7. 'There was a real sense of anxiety'published at 22:22

FT: St Mirren 1-1 Hamilton Accies

St Mirren manager Jim Goodwin tells BBC Sportsound: "It wasn't a great performance, but it was important we didn't lose. Being one down at half-time, I suppose we've got to be satisfied with taking a point in the end.

"We haven't been playing terribly but there was a real sense of anxiety around the whole stadium tonight and we didn't handle that well enough. But we sorted out the formation at half-time, made a change, and in the second half we were well on top for large spells."

  8. Holt 'can't fault' his playerspublished at 22:20

    FT Ross County 2-0 Livingston

Livingston manager Gary Holt tells BBC Sportsound: "The two goals we conceded are disappointing. You lose the first one so early in the game and it makes it harder for us to get in behind them because they don't need to come out and play. They can try to hit us on the counter.

Livingston manager Gary HoltImage source, SNS

Gary Holt made a triple substitution as his Livingston side were chasing County's two-goal lead

"I can't ask for any more of the lads. I thought they gave their all, they tried to win the game, they moved the ball well at times. Did we threaten the goalkeeper enough? Maybe not - we need to do more in the final third.

"You've got to give Ross County credit. They harassed us at times but we were well in the game. I thought the energy and the effort was there. The wee bits of quality, defensively and offensively as a team, we've got to do better but I can't fault them."

  9. 'Edouard was unplayable'published at 22:15

  10. 'We need to keep our feet on the ground' - Dyerpublished at 22:10

    FT: Hearts 2-3 Kilmarnock

Kilmarnock manager Alex Dyer tells BBC Sportsound: "The last 10 minutes we were under a bit of pressure, but you’d expect that coming here. The boys stuck in and put in a good performance to take the three points.

"We had two good players up front, and with the midfield backing them up we knew we’d get chances tonight.

Alex Dyer's Kilmarnock side claimed their second successive win

"We’ve had two good wins now, two very good wins. We’ve got the cup at the weekend, so I hope we can continue it then.

"Our aim is always to get in the top six, but before that we need to look the other way. It’s important we keep our feet on the ground."

  11. 'A good, battling performance' - Wrightpublished at 22:07

    FT: Aberdeen 0-1 St Johnstone

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright is a happy man following his side's victory at Pittodrie.

"It was a good, battling performance particularly the second half," he tells BBC Sportsound. "First half we were magnificent. First goal was tremendous, a great pass. It was a perfect pass and a great finish by Ali who's getting better and better.

"They've given me everything and since they've come back their performances have deserved more points than they've got.

"One thing about the group and the staff is we don't panic. When we we having our bad run we din't panic. We've a squad that work hard together and we're moving in the right direction."

  12. 'Edouard can get even better' - Lennonpublished at 22:04

    FT: Motherwell 0-4 Celtic

Speaking on BBC Sportsound, Celtic manager Neil Lennon hailed the performance of star striker Odsonne Edouard.

"Just a magnificent performance. What a player he is, just his all round game is so good, he's just a joy to watch at the moment. I don't like building players up but it's very difficult not to when you have a player of that quality playing the way he is - 24 goals is a magnificent return."

"He can get better. He's only 22 so he's got everything in front of him. I'm so pleased he's playing so well and that he's so happy here."

"I enjoyed the second half a lot more than the first half. Motherwell's set up caused a few problems but we sorted that out at half-time and second half we were magnificent."

  13. 'You have to take your chances' - Robinsonpublished at 22:00

    FT: Motherwell 0-4 Celtic

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Sportsound: "We had plenty of the match in the first half. To create that many chances against Celtic, you have to take them.

"But we didn't. There was a lot of good, positive stuff from us in the first half. If you look at the level of substitutions they made in comparison to ours, then it tells you where both football clubs are.

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson said it was a game of two halves against Celtic

"If you don't take your chances then, eventually, they'll wear you down. And they did - and won comfortably in the end.

"The second half was disappointing as we stopped doing the things that gave ourselves a chance."

Rangers stay seven points behind in the title race but they had to work hard for the points this evening against a determined Hibs side, who scored first and defended for their lives after the break.

Ianis Hagi was the Ibrox hero, firing in a fine strike on 84 minutes to mark his first start for the club he joined on loan on deadline day. It will also act as a nice birthday present for his famous father, Gheorghe, who turned 55 today.

  19. FULL-TIME Aberdeen 0-1 St Johnstonepublished at 21:38

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

The boos ring out at Pittodrie, well from the home fans anyway. The 148 Saints supporters who made the trip are making plenty of noise, after a fine display by their side - Saints deserved this, they got their goal, kept their shape, and didn't allow Aberdeen to get any sort of foothold back in to the game. In terms of the Dons, the lack of cutting edge was stark again, a problem they have to sort out and quickly.

  20. FULL-TIME St Mirren 1-1 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 21:39 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2020

A frenetic encounter in Paisley ends honours even. A point apiece for two of the Premiership's relegation-threatened teams.
