A great run from Callum McGregor, but he was allowed, allowed to run so far all the way into the box and then the cutback and slip from Declan Gallagher just laid it on a tee for Leigh Griffiths and he doesn't miss from eight or nine yards.

  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 52 mins

    Rangers 1-1 Hibernian

Borna Barisic is the danger man for Rangers right now as his delivery from the left falls for Joe Aribo, who draws a good diving save from Ofir Marciano at his near post.

    Aberdeen 0-1 St Johnstone

Derek McInnes makes a change at the break as Jon Gallagher is replaced by Niall McGinn. The Aberdeen boss stands with his arms folded on the touchline with a grim expression on his face. He's not happy.

    Eamonn Brophy

Eamonn Brophy sees his low, powerful shot fizz just past Joel Pereira's post, but moments later the striker extends Kilmarnock's lead. He turns inside past John Souttar and blasts his shot past Pereira - the goalkeeper should do better, and it now looks to be game over at Tynecastle.

Motherwell have done really well with their shape and been really brave going almost man for man. And they've coped. You need to keep a top striker like Edouard under wraps for as long as you can, but you know he'll get a chance. You need to try to limit them. But so far Motherwell have defended well.

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard embarks on a mazy run down the left wing at the start of the second half but a blizzard of claret & amber jerseys eventually snuff out the danger.

St Johnstone with the lead at the break, hard to grudge them it .... every player is doing their job, and doing it well. Saints are posing Aberdeen plenty of questions, questions so far the Dons just don't have any answers to.

I've been impressed by Rolando Aarons in this first half, probably Motherwell's best attacking player. Very lively, give and go at times, holding it up and in one-v-one situations very impressive. It's been a good debut for him.

First versus third and a quality contest on show.

Initially, Celtic looked like they would be on the rampage, with their menacing 3-5-2 causing Motherwell plenty of problems with Edouard and Griffiths up top.

But Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson said his side would take the game to Celtic, and they certainly have. Jermaine Hylton with the first real chance, but he snatched at it and the ball flew wide.

Odsonne Edouard would make the difference, yet again. Credit to Leigh Griffiths for stealing the ball from Liam Donnelly before feeding Callum McGregor who combined with Edouard on the edge of the box. The French striker saw his initial shot blocked but it bounced fortuitously back into his path and he fired low past Mark Gillespie to make it 1-0.

Motherwell winger Rolando Aarons - making his debut on loan from Newcastle - then hit the post from a Liam Polworth cross as the home side went close to equalising.

And the right before half time Aarons with an angled drive from the edge of the box which Forster did superbly well to divert over the bar.

Celtic in front but Motherwell much, much more like themselves after that weekend defeat at Livingston.

  13. HALF-TIME Aberdeen 0-1 St Johnstonepublished at 20:35

Ali McCann's lovely dinked finish is the difference between the sides. St Johnstone deserve their lead although it's been a game of few clear chances.

Aberdeen are really struggling again in attack. That's now 315 minutes of football without scoring.

  14. HALF-TIME Rangers 1-1 Hibernianpublished at 20:35

An explosion of relief from the home fans right on the half time whistle as George Edmundson hits back for Rangers. That's the big defender's first goal since his summer switch from Oldham.

Not too many goalmouth incidents at Ibrox, but it was Hibs who struck first when Allan McGregor couldn't deal with a dropping ball in a busy penalty area and Paul Hanlon tucked away the scraps.

  15. HALF-TIME Ross County 1-0 Livingstonpublished at 20:35

Billy Mckay kept his place in County's starting line-up and proved worthy of his position as the bustling little striker cracked in the opening goal after good work by Marcus Fraser.

Livingston have been disappointing, with too many misplaced passes and uncharacteristically nervous in possession. Gary Holt's side improved as the half-time whistle drew near, but they will have to do much better to quell the Staggies this evening.

  16. HALF-TIME Hearts 0-2 Kilmarnockpublished at 20:34

Both sides have looked dangerous at Tynecastle, but Kilmarnock find themselves two goals ahead after a bullet header from Stuart Findlay and a lovely chip from Chris Burke.

Hearts started the livelier of the two teams – Lewis Moore in particular looked threatening working down the right side, and saw his deflected cross strike the crossbar.

Euan Henderson and Craig Halkett also forced good saves from goalkeeper Laurentiu Branescu, but the visitors drew the first blood.

Findlay rose to meet Rory McKenzie’s corner, which was flicked on at the near post, and netted from close-range.

10 minutes before the break, Burke doubled their lead with a superbly taken goal, lifting the ball over Hearts goalkeeper Joel Pereira after a heavy first touch.

Killie are on course for their second win in a row – after a run of 10 games without a win – while Hearts have a big task on their hand to keep their unbeaten record in 2020 intact.

  18. HALF-TIME St Mirren 0-1 Hamilton Academicalpublished at 20:33 Greenwich Mean Time 5 February 2020

It's been a really impressive showing from Hamilton Academical in Paisley, and they have a deserve lead at the break.

David Templeton, in the second game of his second spell at the club, has been excellent, and scored the only goal of a frenetic opening 45 minutes.

The former Hearts and Rangers man fired low beyond Vaclav Hladky from the edge of the box, and almost did so again moments after scoring. The St Mirren stopper did wonderfully to tip a thunderous Marios Ogkmpoe drive on to the crossbar, with Tony Andreu's late opportunity the only chance of note for the impotent hosts.
