Lovely, lovely close control from Helder Costa opens up a chance for a shot but George Long is equal to it in the Hull goal.

The build-up play prior to it really was brilliant.

Hull defender Sean McLoughlin had had the first chance of this second half moments before Leeds made it 2-0.

He could only direct his header from George Honeyman's corner straight at Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal and less than a minute later the visitors had made it 2-0.

Fine margins.

It's a booking apiece as Leeds striker Patrick Bamford and Hull defender Sean McLoughlin go into the back for a tangle on the halfway line.

There was no Friday night game in the Championship as there usually would be, but there was one match taking place in the third tier.

Promotion-chasing Portsmouth made it 10 home wins in a row in League One by beating Rochdale to move up to third.

Ryan Williams opened the scoring with a close-range finish after keeper Robert Sanchez parried a header from Christian Burgess into the path of the winger.

Ian Henderson hit the woodwork and Matty Lund tested home keeper Alex Bass as struggling Dale went in search of an equaliser.

However, Steve Seddon came off the bench to score Pompey's second before setting Burgess up for the hosts' third.

It's probably the scoreline, if not quite the game, we expected.

Leeds took a fifth-minute lead through Luke Ayling's deflected strike and nearly made it 2-0 inside the opening 10 minutes when Pablo Hernandez's effort struck the bar.

Thereafter Hull have grown into it and, while they haven't drawn a save from Illan Meslier yet, boss Grant McCann will be pleased with how his side have restricted Leeds.

However, as it stands, second-placed Leeds are on course for a fourth straight 1-0 and it'll be 10 league games without a win for the Tigers.
