That's all we have for you this evening - thanks for your company.

It's been quite an evening for Matt Smith, who scored only his second career hat-trick to earn Millwall a very impressive win.

We'll be back with more EFL action tomorrow, starting with the meeting of two more Championship promotion hopefuls when Bristol City host Fulham in the lunchtime kick-off.

    Until then, goodbye!

  2. Reaction: 'We suffered a lot'published at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2020

    FT: Forest 0-3 Millwall

Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi told BBC Radio Nottingham:

"It's a bad feeling and disappointing because the expectation was different. We gave them the possibility to kill us and they killed us.

"Congratulations to Millwall. Physically it was a big impact from them and and we suffered a lot.

"Mentally when you are physically down you need to play more simple. It was the wrong performance and result. It’s a bad moment. We need to refresh and come back in training and find the solution for the next game."

  4. Reaction: 'It was a risky plan'published at 21:58 Greenwich Mean Time 6 March 2020

    FT: Forest 0-3 Millwall

Millwall boss Gary Rowett told Sky Sports:

"Matt Smith led the line superbly. He got us out with his aerial presence and I thought that was an area we could exploit Forest.

"Crosses into the box, we thought there was some vulnerability on set-pieces and we also worked a lot on counter-attacking down their right hand side.

"I was pleased with the plan, it was a risky plan, but it always looks better if it works."

There's no doubt about it, Millwall are very much in the Championship after this impressive win.

They're now just two points off sixth-placed Preston with nine games to play - not bad considering this was only their second win in nine games.

For Forest, this feels like an opportunity missed to put some pressure on the three sides above them.

Should West Brom and Leeds win at the weekend then an 11-point deficit to the top too might be two much to make up.

    FT: Forest 0-3 Millwall

Millwall midfielder Jayson Molumby told Sky Sports:

"That performance was Millwall to a tee - we just work hard for each other.

"Our goal from the start was to not let them settle and put them under pressure and I think physically we got the better of them and won the battle."

    FT: Forest 0-3 Millwall

Millwall striker Matt Smith, who scored a hat-trick, told Sky Sports:

"It was a great performance from the boys and we're buzzing with the three points.

"The second goal nicked off my foot as it came through but the celebration (from Jayson Molumby) probably merited the goal.

"It was great night for us all and we've sent the fans home happy."

    And that's that.

A wonderful victory for Gary Rowett and his Millwall side. Matt Smith is the hat-trick hero in a very comfortable win. Forest were well beaten, but remain in a great position for the play-offs, at least.

    Forest 0-3 Millwall

Millwall are soon to be just two points off the play-off places after a thoroughly deserved win. Forest showed some promise early on but were blown away inside 13 first-half minutes.

It's looking increasingly like the play-offs will be the passage Sabri Lamouchi's side need to seek to make the Premier League.

Millwall will think they can join them on this form.

    Forest 0-3 Millwall

Forest are still searching some minor comfort from a game where they had as good as lost by the break. A corner causes a few problems at the back post but Tyler Walker cannot react in time and it drifts wide.

We will have four minutes of injury-time and Millwall will start that period by taking plenty of time to take a corner Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has just won.

  14. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 86 mins

    Forest 0-3 Millwall

Another change for Millwall as we enter the final four minutes of normal time.

Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has will probably have about 420 seconds to shine after replacing Shane Ferguson.

Many a Forest fan is heading for the exits now.

It's been a pretty miserable way to start the weekend footie action. Avoid the papers tomorrow, put the phone on airplane mode, sulk a bit and try to get it out of your system.

Millwall supporters will be lapping this up. The long trek home will be a pleasure. Their side have been magnificent.

Reds keeper Brice Samba took exception to the time it took Matt Smith to leave the pitch just now and earns himself a yellow card for pointing it out rather noisily to the officials.

Forest are still asking questions, but they are getting pretty short shrift in response.

John Bostock has had two of three Forest attempts on target now. The half-time sub tries his luck from 25 yards with a swerving attempt and Bart Bialkowski takes no chances, watching it all the way, opting for safety first as he pushes it away from goal.

Forest are heading for a fifth home defeat this season. Their away form has been magnificent, but they have struggled to unlock packed defences at the City Ground.

Two attempts on target so far tells a story.

    Forest 0-3 Millwall

Tyler Walker is straight into the action for the Reds, scampering free on the right, but he is unable to pick out a cross. Forest keep knocking on the door, but Millwall have defended impressively throughout.

    Just over 15 to go.
