A sumptuous spin and turn by Sammy Ameobi in the box almost ends with the Forest man getting a shot away, but Jayson Molumby does wonderfully well to read it and clear.

Nottingham Forest have spent most of the latter stages of the first half deep in Millwall territory but they have created next to nothing and have just one effort on target for their efforts.

Sammy Ameobi sees a 25-yard strike deflected wide for a corner as we enter two minutes of additional time.

Millwall could not have seriously thought they would be 3-0 up just before the break. They have been great value for this.

Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is a popular man at the City Ground. The half-time reaction from the home fans will be mixed, I expect.

More Forest pressure and Yuri Ribeiro sends in a cross from the left that has Millwall centre-back Jake Cooper backtracking to clear from the on-rushing Sammy Ameobi.

There's a hint of pressure from Forest now. Lewis Grabban gets free on the right and works some space for a cross but again Millwall stand firm.

Joao Carvalho had a promising first few minutes for the hosts but he has hardly had a sniff since then. Joe Lolley and Sammy Ameobi have also been starved of possession.

Disbelief around the City Ground from the home fans and Millwall's travelling supporters are making a fair amount of noise.

Tactically, it's not just been the big ball up to Matt Smith - who I am sure will now be claiming a hat-trick.

The set-pieces have been excellent but the first two goals were superbly worked.

Forest need a goal back by the break, you feel. Lewis Grabban wins a corner but it's cleared.

Millwall want a third. They have a corner, won by Shane Ferguson. All the big men are up.

How do Forest come back from this?

Millwall are charging around at a frenetic pace and really troubling Forest in possession. The Lions will struggle to maintain this tempo, but at 2-0 ahead they are in control and look dangerous in open play and from set-pieces.

They look more likely to add a third, than Forest do to get one back.

Joao Carvalho could be the man to unlock things for Forest, although he is not the fella you want to come powering in and get on the end of a floating cross.

That's what he tries to do as Forest search an instant reply, but understandably the tiny Portuguese doesn't get close to making contact and the danger is averted.

Forest have struggled to break down well organised teams at home on numerous occasions this season.

A miserly Millwall defence will be a particularly tough nut to crack.

A cheap goal. That goal came from nothing really - he wasn't challenged at all.

That's got the home crowd going.

Joe Lolley has the ball on the right and predictably cuts inside, somehow taking the Millwall defence by surprise.

But the winger spanks his shot over the bar. There's a warning for Gary Rowett's side. It was all too easy for Forest's star man.

A poor clearance from an under-pressure Brice Samba sees the Reds keeper gift possession to Millwall who fail to make the most of a promising position. Mason Bennett is crowded out and Forest go again.

Shane Ferguson drags a shot well wide from the left and then Jed Wallace sends in a brilliant low cross which has Yuri Ribeiro steaming across from left-back to clear the danger with Matt Smith lurking.

This one is easily cleared and Forest hoof it away.

It's sent into the six-yard box. Brice Samba feels he is being blocked off as Millwall pile in, but Forest clear it and a free-kick is then awarded anyway.The Lions will be a big threat from set-pieces.
