    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Manchester CIty

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One

Riyad Mahrez will be disappointed. He's arrived in the central area and it's landed beautifully for him. You'd expect him to do much better with that. He's a wonderful talent though.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Manchester City

    Michael Brown
Former Man City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

The possession stats are creeping up for Manchester City - now on 76%. But Garry Monk will be happy that, after 23 minutes, they haven't had one shot on target.

  4. Postpublished at 20:08 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Manchester City

You're better than that - Riyad Mahrez with a wild slice at the ball from 18 yards and puts it rows and rows back into the stand.

    Sliced.

  5. 'Jesus will be disappointed'published at 20:06 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Manchester CIty

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender on BBC One

It's a great ball in from John Stones. That's the thing with John Stones when he's confident, he improvises really well there. Gabriel Jesus will be disappointed he hasn't hit the target from there.

  6. CLOSE!published at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Manchester City

Chance, good one too for Manchester City as Gabriel Jesus heads wide at the back post. He was up between two defenders and once he won the header he should probably score.

We are seeing some nice touches from Giovani Lo Celso tonight, he looks in fine form.

Speaking of making the most of set plays, Birmingham play a free-kick short and Lukas Jutkiewicz slices a shot right across goal.

  9. Postpublished at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Manchester City

    Michael Brown
Former Man City midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

Sheffield Wednesday have to capitalise on their set-pieces when they get the chance. They have to put in a good delivery but have failed on their first two opportunities.

  10. Postpublished at 20:04 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

Brief unity at Hillsborough as the home fans sing an anti-Manchester United song. Sergio Aguero is then dumped on his backside.

Barry Bannan with a wonderful piece of skill. A little cheeky nutmeg when under pressure.

  12. Postpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

Serge Aurier with a real bone rattler on Todd Cantwell, depositing the midfielder in several pieces on the sideline but somehow the maverick full-back escapes a booking.

  13. Postpublished at 20:00 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2020

Wednesday win a corner, waste it as they don't clear the first man. Rubbish.

    Sheffield Wednesday 0-0 Manchester CIty

    Martin Keown

The two Silvas are just magnificent in their work; their play and their movement. All Guardiola's work obviously, he plays football like a chess champion.

What a cross Giovani Lo Celso.

Tim Krul comes for it, he thinks he can get it, he back tracks and it is a fantastic header at the far post from Jan Vertonghen.

It was all about the delivery though.

Andrew Pittaway: Commentator on BBC just said it's a relief there's no VAR in use tonight. Try telling that to Swansea City after they were robbed in the quarter-finals against Man City last season. Obviously the FA haven't learned their lesson. VAR should be in use - no excuses.

Good move from Birmingham this time as Scott Hogan tees up Kerim Mrabti - his shot deflects narrowly wide. Good move.

I was thinking the City kit reminded me of fruit salad chewy sweets

I've nothing against Sheffield Wednesday at all, and no doubt the fans who've stayed away have perfectly good reasons. But I'm pretty sure City would have been slaughtered if there'd been this many empty seats at the Etihad.

A brilliant run from Lucas Moura and he made the pass at the perfect time.

Giovani Lo Celso shifted the ball onto his left foot and that gave Tim Krul time to set himself.
