  2. 'People write us off most seasons' - Cairnspublished at 14:41

    Hearts v Hamilton (15:00)

Hamilton academy director George Cairns, who'll be in the dugout this afternoon with manager Brian Rice still serving a suspension, says the pressure of facing Hearts in a key relegation clash won't affect his players.

Cairns tells BBC Scotland Sportsound: “It’s been a long time since we won at Tynecastle but hopefully today is the day.

“We don’t see it as being extra tense, if you do think like that you can take your mind of the job.

“People write us off at the start of most seasons. Young players are a big part of what we do at this club and putting them into games today is what it’s about. Let them thrive and see what they can learn. Of course they’ll make mistakes but it won’t faze them."

Also making way from Wednesday night's trouncing are defender Ben Garuccio and midfielder Anthony McDonald. Defender Aaron Hickey and striker Uche Ikpeazu return to the team in an attacking looking home line-up.

  10. Hamilton’s history hopes at Heartspublished at 14:27

    Hearts v Hamilton (15:00)

    Jonathan Sutherland
    BBC Sport Scotland at Tynecastle

1 October 1977 - the last time Hamilton Academical tasted victory at Tynecastle, a 2-0 the scoreline that day.

Almost 43 years have passed, but a win for Accies today over Hearts would not only be a big day for the history books - it would be a hammer blow for Hearts survival hopes.

These two next matches for Hearts - Hamilton today at home, then St Mirren away on Friday - are potentially season defining.

But Hamilton are only a point ahead of Daniel Stendel’s side. With Storm Dennis about to arrive just in time for kick-off this promises to be an utterly compelling battle.
